June 11, 2004 -  release date
Starring:
Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick, Christopher Walken, Faith Hill, Bette Midler,
Glenn Close, Jon Lovitz
Directed By:
Frank Oz

Synopsis and trailer can be seen  here

This remake is a comedy-thriller which is a bit different from the original ---> a scarier thriller with social commentary/satire thrown in.
I hope the reviews are good because I want to see it - great cast!

I hope you're wrong about that.
I often shy away from remakes, but this appears promising to me.
We'll know soon...

I saw the previews for it last night. LOL Bette Midler as a stepford wife. It does look very good. Now maybe when I call myself a stepford wife, people will know what I'm talking about

I'll see it just to see Christopher Walken.  I love that guy!

Lately, though...I am kind of sick of Nicole Kidman.

I'll wait til video for it.

I read that Nicole Kidman had to come back and reshoot some of the scenes that did not play well to the test audience.

I dated myself today and went to see this movie.  I needed to cool off.  It was a very hot day here - high 80's and that's a heat wave for Oregon.  lol
It wasn't as wonderful as I had hoped, but it was plenty of fun.  Laughed out loud at several lines and enjoyed how this remake ended, unlike the original.  I was happily surprised by that.

I love Christopher Walken too Eileen!!  Been a huge fan since The Dead Zone.  But I'll wait until this comes out on video.  Thanks for the preview Becca.

Christopher Walken is creepy.  He always gets the creepy parts, too, except in Blast from the Past.  He was perfectly cast as the dad.

Loved The Dead Zone!
And Piper, I always thought Christopher Walken was creepy, but then I saw him in some interviews and he's actually a really funny guy!  He loves being funny but knows he's sort of typecasted so he's going with it.  Ever since seeing the "real" him, I appreciate him even more.  I'll watch a movie just for him.  Unfortunately, with the kids and little time I usually have to wait for movies on video.  I used to "date" myself, too, and go see movies.  Miss that!!  But my kids are worth losing a life outside the house for, lol!

I read that Christopher Walken is a pretty nice guy in real life.  I found that hard to believe because he plays such weird characters, but he's one of a kind with a good sense of humor and is well-liked.

Do you remember when Paula Prentiss was married to that dork Richard Benjamin?  I could never figure that one out.

I was pleasantly surprised too.  Bette Midler stole the movie she was hilarious.  I liked it a lot.
