Here's the first look at Joel Schumacher's film Phantom of the Opera.

Wow impressive, from the trailer it looks like it could be pretty good.  Thanks Jim.

Same here!    I saw the preview in the theater today.
I saw the show 3 times when it finally hit San Francisco years ago.
It is one of the best musicals I have ever seen.   The music is soooo phantastic.  ;-)

Phantom's always been one of my favorites (alright- it's the soundtrack I crank up loud in the car and pretend I can sing!) I sure hope the movie does it justice. It sure looks lavish from the trailer! I'm a little surprised we haven't heard more about it! Maybe because ther are no big name American actors in it?

My biggest concern for Phantom the movie is who's playing ans singing Christine's part.

Very few people can sing that part and Sarah Brightman was without a doubt magnificent...they can't do a fimllike this with people like Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor (using the Moulin Rouge comparison)...they were great in Moulin...but for Phantom..you have to be to sing your butt off.

Hopefully they saw to it that the 2 leads can really sing.  If they did...everything else should fall into place nicely.

Jim
