Since the best way (usually) to enjoy music is live, I thought I'd add a thread here. Who have you seen in concert that made a lasting impression? Most of my most memorable happened in the 70's. I saw AC\DC in '77 or '78 with original singer Bon Scott at the Tower theater in Philly. They opened for Blackfoot and UFO and blew both of them right out of the building. J. Geils and the Stones in Germany in '82 was another great show. My first time seeing the Stones, and I couldn't believe the energy Mick brought to the stage. But my most memorable was Blue Oyster Cult at the Spectrum. About midway through the show, John Lennon joined the band on stage! Talk about shock and awe! I couldn't believe I was seeing this. They played together for about half an hour, maybe 5 songs total. Covered All along the Watchtower, did I am The Walrus, and then played a few others. By the time that show was over I was exhausted. So, anyone else care to chime in here? I love live music and would like to hear your favorite live acts! Peace John |

Some of my most memorable concerts: McCartney was fantastic on his Flaming Pie Tour Seen U2s Zoo TV Tour and one other...boith outstanding. Queensruche's Operation: Livecrime was possibly the best I've ever seen. Oingo Boingo in a 500 seat venue was pretty darn good too. Seen Van Halen so many times I lost count. Most memorable though, without a doubt, I was sitting 2nd row for the Guns-n-Roses riot in St. Louis back in 91 I think. When Axl jumped into the crowd...I could have knocked him out myself I was so close. By the way, Axl, if you're reading...you still owe me either half a concert of 40 bucks!! Jim |

OMG, Toni!!! Is that you with my two idols??!! Heart has been my all-time favorite since I was a kid in the 70's!! Oh, you must tell, what were they like in person?! I only saw them once back in '81 or '82, with John Mellencamp when he had just put out Jack & Diane, and it was awesome!! I have always thought the world of the Wilson sisters. I have so much respect and admiration for them. Their earlier stuff is my favorite. Christine |

Hi everyone .... I guess I'd have to say, I've been fortunate enough to meet these star through sheer determination! I wanted it badly enough, to follow my dreams .... With Heart, I would do anything to follow them , and get a chance to meet them .... that Mellencamp tour was the most I have seen Heart -- we followed them almost all over in So.Ca., and I even got to grab John's arm going to out 3rd row seat! We crashed a party, but, unfortunetly, Heart was not there, but John's band was ..... those pictures with Ann and Nancy were taken at an after concert party I was actually allowed in! My husband-to-be got us in ..... so many stories .... the earlier stuff is my fav, as well ..... do you know who these are??? love, Toni Roger Fisher's closet 2/84 Roger's Dog And Butterfly tour clothes 2/84 try to understand, he's the magic man ... Toni and Mike 2/04 |

I can't believe I ommited Pink Floyd. I saw the entire group on 3 tours. Dark Side of the Moon, Animals and The Wall and on numerous tours without one or another of the members.Awesome effects, tight arrangements, and plenty of improv. Awesome musicians! |

Toni, Of course I know Roger Fisher!! Did you ever meet Mike Derosier? He sure was cute once he shaved all the facial hair off! I can remember when the girls and the Fishers broke up - I was so sad for them! I don't know what it was on, but I saw a show about them and how Dog & Butterfly was created with a lot of kleenex boxes nearby! That must have been in 1980 or so. Also, I never mentioned any of my most memorable concerts in my last post. Oh, so many!! Heart, of course. Triumph was fantastic but during the light show I started to see things spin (and no, I wasn't "on" anything!!) and nearly fainted. We had to leave and I was so upset. Found out the next day that I had an ear infection. Anyway, Ronnie James Dio was awesome. Saw Dylan with Van Morrison in the late 90's and it was spectacular. But the most memorable was the Walden Woods benefit in '89 or '90. My cuz and I spent $100 for VIP seats and got to schmooze with people at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston afterwards. For the show, there was The Eagles, Arlo Guthrie, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Seger, Don Johnson, Carrie Fisher, Dana Delaney (who I loved in China Beach), etc.... Got to meet Timothy B. Schmidt (a sweetie), Don Henley (not the most sociable - I called him "Poopyface" afterwards!!), and a few others, as well as Seger who gave me a very painful handshake!!! He just kept shaking my hand as we were talking and he was telling us that it was so nice to meet "nice" girls (in other words, we weren't groupies). To this day I still think he was higher than a kite on something, but still, he was very nice and it was great to meet him. Ed Begley Jr. was there, too. My cuz kept laughing about how she wanted Don Johnson but got Ed instead! |

Great story, Christine .... Mike D. is the ONLY member from the original Heart I didn't meet .... ... although, when I spent the day at the Fisher's house, his drum set was there .... .... I did meet Howard, although I never got my picture with him .... here's a couple more .... wouldn't it be great if Heart could have a 'reunion tour', with the original members?? Don't think it would ever happen, too much bad blood between them all, but it would be great! Toni Toni and Steve Fossen, bass ..... 1985 Toni and Mark Andes, bass, 1984 |

What was Howard like, if you don't mind all my questions! He seems like a nice guy and he stayed with the girls for so long. |

A memorable concert that I was at was AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip tour. It was amazing! You don't know what you missed if you didn't go to this concert, they know how to rock and put on a show! Also, the Shania Twain tour in 1999 was excellent, she sure knows how to put on an entertaining show! |

1. Seeing John Lennon do "I Am The Walrus" must have been great. One of my all time favorite songs that one. 2. I remember seeing The Grateful Dead on New Years Eve 1970 in San Francisco... classic. They opened with "Truckin'"... No violence in concerts in those days... EXCEPT 3. The Altamont Concert where the Hell's Angels killed a guy during the Stones set. That entire concert was a weird vibe. It was like a shadow haunted the entire day. 4. And, most recently, Crosby, Stills and Nash in Denver. Nash and Crosby have snow white hair now. They were good and, as is their wont, they did their political talk along with the set... they were mad about people losing their entire life savings in companies like Enron and Stills comes up to the mike out of nowhere and goes "**** Martha Stewart". Humourous and yet these guys are still kickin' and still soul-full. |

You saw the Bee Gees, Sue?! Ooh, you lucky dog! I just love them. My friend met Maurice and he was just the sweetest thing. She's a Bee Gees fanatic and also a quadraplegic.....she was at some Bee Gees thing in Florida and waiting in line to meet them but people kept cutting her. Maurice noticed this and came right up to her. She has a real nice photo of the two of them. She also met Barry's wife who took a picture she had and had them all sign it and then actually mailed it back to her! |

I also saw: Huey Lewis & The News, Bryan Adams, Richard Marx. Most recently I saw: Creed, Goo-Goo Dolls & 3 Doors Down. I have never been luck enough to meet any of them however. |
