The CD release dates for Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard and Fantasia can be found at:

The executive producer of Clay's CD said that we will hear him singing in ways that you never heard or even dreamed of. Interesting. The title of the CD is "A Thousand Different Ways".

These release dates have a way of changing.

I read awhile back that some Fox stations are reruning AI1 this fall. For the life of me I can't find the link to the article but if I see it somewhere again I'll post it here. I only watched the last two weeks of that season so I'd like to see the entire season.

Do you want to listen to a cut on Clay's new CD? It is a remake of Without You and is the best vocal version that I ever heard. Spectacular and amazing actually!

Just wait a few seconds and it will start to play.

Now, I love his lower register in this song and the upper register is wonderful but....
I think that the instrumentation is just too overpowering and annoying! You would never hear that on a Celine Dion CD. Her voice is front and center.

On Clay's Christmas album his voice was the focus so I had high hopes for this one thinking that TPTB finally got it.

That being said, his voice has no strain, no dropped notes, no hesitation, and his melisma (a passage of several notes sung to one syllable) is perfection. I've listened to this song more than a few times!

Whoever mixed this song should be (I can't clean my thoughts up enough, but shot or drawn and quartered come to mind) and right now I could say the same thing about RCA and Clive Davis.

Clay in concert cannot be overpowered and I am looking forward to hearing this song being sung the way it should be.

Mary!  Thanksabunch for mentioning the AI reruns.  I wasn't aware of it!

I only caught the finale of the first one and went craaaazy for Justin.  I VERY MUCH look forward to seeing that one in it's entirety.

And I look forward to seeing Clay outshine them all again during AI2 reruns.   ;-)
I think it's when he sang Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me (or was it another Elton song?) before the final 12 were picked when I said to myself, that's it, he wins!
He did win, right?   lol

American Idol Rewind   ◄   That's what I quickly found for now.   It starts next month, but I have yet to find the date and time.

I listened to Without You just now.   I prefer watching Clay as he sings, so this was difficult for me.   I was kinda bored listening to it until he hit some other notes in the middle and carried it thru to the end.   I mostly blame it on the instrumentals, though...they were putting me to sleep.   I can't say if I found them overpowering, but annoying....yes!

Becca, the version that I posted was a bootleg version. I did listen a 30 second clip of the version that will be on the CD at Sony or Promosquad and it is MUCH better.

I love seeing him live and just yesterday bought tickets for his Christmas show here in NJ. 8th row! The best seats that I ever got.

I filled my harddrive with downloads of his concerts and I can't even defragnemt. My son bought me an external harddrive and transfered all the videos to it so now I am deleting form my computer like crazy. I have to make room for videos of the Christmas show.

Today I had the dishwasher and the clothes washer and dryer on and just for electric overload the vaccum. Certainly not enough so I clicked on the TV.

Ruben Studdard was on The View and his CD will drop tomorrow.

He said that he is now a veritarian and has lost 75 pounds. He is still a big man with the cutest dimples.

Clay taped Tyra Banks show but it will not air for about 2 weeks.

If you missed his Jimmy Kimmel interview it should rerun tonight.

Clay's Christmas concert will be on Bravo on Dec. 14 and 15th. in our area it will only be on this Thursday at 9:00 PM. He is on stage for 2 hours and this is a one hour TV show. I hope the editors leave in some of the banter with the audience. Funny stuff.

I bought tickets to two shows and missed the first one because my surgeon didn't think that going to a Clay Aiken concert was a good enough excuse to postpone having my wrist put back together! He did let me bring my CD player and headphones into the operating room.

I'll see Clay live on Saturday!!!!
