Remember her from American Idol? Wow!!! Looking forward to seeing this movie. ‘I feel very honored’ says actress over talk that she may get an Oscar nod Jennifer Hudson makes her feature film debut in the new movie "Dreamgirls." >>> The Chicago-born Hudson, 25, beat out more than 300 other women — including her “AI” competitor Fantasia Barrino to play the role that Jennifer Holliday originated in the Tony Award-winning Broadway play that chronicles the rise and fall of a top girl group. <<< |

Becca, there's even Oscar buzz for her performance. I guess Beyonce is a little ticked off about all the attention she's getting. She will probably have a bigger name than Fantasia...so not winning was a good thing for her. I can't wait to see it either. |

I'm happy to hear about her GG nomination today!! Seems very likely now she'll get an Oscar nomination, too. I heard (today) it was around 800 people she beat out for this role. I looked at our AI 3 thread just to confirm what I thought we thought of her then. It's good. :-) Fantasia told Jennifer then that she was her American Idol...I kinda remember that sincere and sweet moment. |

I saw Dreamgirls last week and Jennifer Hudson was fantastic. The entire cast was great but she really stole the show. Several times after she sang the audience was clapping. |

SO happy for her! She looked great! Can't seem to find full length photos right now. DreamGirls also won best movie/comedy or musical. I hope to see it this week. |

Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy won the SAG awards for best supporting actress and actor last night. There is a lot of talk about bringing the play back to Broadway starring Jennifer. |
