It premiered last week...ep 2 was last night. Loving it! I haven't watched any other new fall shows and won't (except for 30 Rock to premier in Oct), but I gotta believe this is definitely one of the best this fall. The writing is exceptional...crisp and edgy. Great acting, too, although I'm on the fence about Amanda Peet for now. I thought I'd have a problem with Matthew Perry since he was on Friends (never watched it, never will) but he's good in this role! If you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at SNL, for example, Studio 60 will kinda explain it. lol I think they call this a show within a show. Anyone else enjoying this? |

It's got Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford AND Steven Weber in it! It really couldn't go wrong for me! |

Sting will be one of the guest stars tonight. This show started off GREAT, but eps 3 and 4 were disappointing, imo. Seemed to go bad in record time! I hope it starts improving tonight. Here's part of an article in the paper today by one of my favorites, Kevin McDonough: We're supposed to care about the sublimated romance between Matt (Matthew Perry) and Harriet (Sarah Paulson), but there is no palpable chemistry between the two. We're told that Harriet is a brilliant comic, but she's yet to do anything remotely amusing. In fact, she's kind of a pill. Her purported Christianity is similarly unconvincing. I totally agree with that...not sure if I agree with his opinion that they are "stuck" inside the studio too much. I kinda like that aspect of the show. I tend to lean towards wanting more of the show within the show stuff and wanting less of the mostly silly and unconvincing personal dramas. |
