Well, NBC interviewed only one celeb who isn't directly involved in horse-racing:

Nick Lachey.  Nick apparently mentioned that his wife (Jessica Simpson) went to

the bookies to bet on Smarty Jones!  So they won some money, too!

 

We started to Corbin OTB to place a Smarty Jones bet, but we had to travel to Cincinnati  to visit my hypochondriac cousin who had a severe asthma attack while mowing her lawn. (Not that asthma isn’t serious {I know it is}.. It’s just that:  if it’s going around, cousin Kathy will catch it.)

 

Anyway - we watched the derby from her Hospital room and didn’t get to place a wager… maybe next time.

Hope Smarty Jones continues to be undefeated, hope he hits the triple crown... hope it rains during  both events !

You know, I have lived in Ky for 36 yrs and this was my first ever Derby bet and I'm telling ya, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I got an epithany..about Smarty Jones. I even went as far as to purchased the Smarty Jones licensed cap. (which of course I wore during the race) and I felt so positive that I had my husband stop in Jamestown to make the bet. We had never been in one of those OTB's before but after we figured how much money we bet we actually tripled our money. Hey, another epithany...triple, maybe just maybe Smarty Jones will pull off the Triple Crown, I really hope so.

On to the Triple Crown!!!!!! Smarty looked really impressive in the Preakness! Go Smarty Go!
