First, a little background. The salon I am at has been open for 2 1/2 years(booth rent). It is located inside a fitness club. When it first opened business was great. Now, not so much. The owner has decided to sell or partner up with, possibly me. What brought all this on is, we had 4 people leave to another salon. She is frustrated as well as I. I am the only reliable person that has stayed. I love where I am. We have free access to the gym and tanning. The only way I have survived is that I have a part time job. I am going to talk to the owner tomorrow to see what it cost to run her salon. I will not decide anything until I know how much it will cost me. I would hate to see this place close or sell to someone else. If it were to sell I probably will not stay. Soooo. What do you think???? Thanks, Gin |

Hi Gin...4 people left ,business down ..no way you should buy into it.. you would be buying a lost business ..even knowing what the cost are ..at this point i wouldn't buy into it unless the booths are all rented out and there is a profit after all bills are paid..if your renting and holding your own stick it out .. nothing wrong with staying if new owners buy into it..and make it better.. I agree, you never know, new owners might improve it for the better. Change can sometimes do us good. |

Well, we have a new salon owner. She has high hopes and is going to make some good changes. Advertise for one and just word of mouth for now to get more stylists in here. She appears to be very bold and that is good. We agree on many things and we hope to be busy soon. Thanks everyone, Gin |

The new owner could make all the difference. Perhaps it was the former owner that customers didnt like. I hope business picks up for you and you can quit your second job.....been in that position before. Donna |
