A very good friend of mine, and a member here, bgeff46 was fired a few days ago From one of the Regis salons where he lives in Illinois. His store manager had him go in early that day, told him the DM resigned, and then said she had to let him go. She, also had mall security there when she did this. The reason for this, was that recently, Jeff had his picture in the local paper that covered a 30 mile radius, along with a full story on his career. Which, as the store manager puts it, "it's not fair to the other stylists that he is being treated like a star." When he asked, "why the security guards?" her answer was "because you had the cops there when you fired me from your salon 9 years ago." He said, "because you wouldn't give the key back". So you see, In my eyes, this is a personal vendetta. Not only can't she let go of the past, but she couldn't stand to see someone who worked under her enjoy his success. After all, HE worked hard for it! Stories like this make me soooo mad!!! You really gotta feel sorry for people like her right? Instead of being honered that her shop was getting positive publicity, she has to bring everyone down to her pathetic level. Sad huh? Jeff was told he might have a law suit. I have to agree with him. He asked me to post this, he is just really distraught by the whole thing. I personally think he deserves much better than this. What does everyone else think?

Where in Illinois does Jeff live?
Got a job for someone who builds up his rep in the papers like he did.
I am having an article published b y our company. And have had nothing but positive good wishes for myself.
Any publisity like that is great for the Salon! What is up with Regis. Bet the regional people either didn't know or were told a different story.

that is a bunch of crap, she shouldnt have gotten away with that. thats rediculous. i dont think that it was regis firing him, like Starliteny  said, i think that it was that lady that had that vendetta against him. that shouldnt be allowed. i am sure that he could work at a better place and i hope that he does. good luck.

I don't know exactly where he lives, I left a message for him to come here to talk to us. He is currently doing hair at people's houses, and is doing well. I personally think he should have gone to one of the upscale salons he was telling me about before he started working for Regis. He thought he needed to be somewhere where he can keep a  steady paycheck, but as he can see, he hasn't lost his clientel, and they would follow him anywhere.

Regis is a know for these types of acts, and that just makes me be even more carefull how you treat people in this industry because what goes around can usually come around..

Sorry to hear about the problems you had with Regis.  Sounds like this company needs to look into their
Salons a little more often and keep a better handle on  what goes on. If you were in our area I would sure talk to you. I know all will go well for you. Ali

Jeff,
If you have been in the business 22 years don't  mess around with the chain salons.
They are all cut throats. I have work at Mastercuts & CostCutters for short periods of time.I have worked commission & now have my own business(7yrs). If your have been around that longer you truly know what your doing. Good luck !God Bless!

Jeff hold your head up because good things come to those who wait...maybe they were worthy enough to have you...God has somthing better in mind for you ...  you should definately look into that because she shouldn't be able to get away with that i hope that all works out for you and my
prayers are with you

I agree that it was a personal vendetta that manager had. It's awful what some people would do. I agree that you should go to an upscale salon or if possible open up your own. You deserve it and nothing should hold you back. Just think of this as a favor that she did for you cause nothing will hold you back now.

i agree when one door closes another one opens up. it may not feel like it now, but it may have been the best thing for you , so you can move on to a better and much more successful position in your career. i wish you great success in your next move.

well big jeff....I totally feel your pain....and sympathize.  I also work for Regis, in Iowa, and I hate it.  I don't want to quit for personal reasons, but I've tried everything to get canned...lol    The upper management thinks that clients should magically appear when its slow,or we should go have a knock down drag out in the mall to bring them in.  Our salon went through a massive walk out just about a year and a half ago when all stylists left including the manager, leaving only me, 2 months out of school.  I ran the salon by myself open to close, for 2 weeks.  When I inquired about the management position and passed the test with flying colors, I was turned down.  This is definitely not a lifelong position, by any stretch of the imagination, just some money to pay the bills.....Sadly, Regis has developed a serious bad taste  in my mouth about the beauty industry, and I'm currently in school pursuing another career.  Jeff, its the best thing that could have happened for you, as now you can really thrive and shine.  Good luck to you, and Piss on Regis!  lmao
