Well, for whatever reason, we are down one stylist as of this past Saturday. Can't figure out if she got fired or if she quit. She was the one who was always hanging it over the owners head that she was going to quit. Saturday was the last time...she said she wasn't happy and the owner said she didn't want her working there if she wasn't happy. What was she supposed to do? Ask her what would make her happy? That's not really her concern. Sounds like a personal problem to me and no changes at work were going to make her happy. She wasn't happy at work cause she was lazy and kept getting in trouble for not answering the phone, receiving customers, general clean up, or cleaning her own station. She was a little prima donna who has had everything handed to her doesn't know what the real world is all about.
When she gets another job, she is going to have an even tougher time. I work for a franchise....I don't think that a private owner would put up with her behavior at all!

Well, you're better off without her! Even if that means being short one stylist, it's one less aggravation. There was nothing anyone could have done to make her happy, so it's better off this way. I had a run in with another young co-worker Friday night, she started closing the computer at 7:30, and we are supposed to close at 8:00-so, that was an absolute no-no where we are (a corporation). She also let me clean the shop by myself, and I didn't help her close, the whole time, I was showing my disapproval with my guestures. She said she didn't care if I was mad at her, and that she just wanted to get out of there...yeah, like I LOVE to stay overtime every closing night??? Then, she left at 7:45, didn't even say goodbye, dropped off the deposit bag, was on her way to pass by the shop, saw me throw a chair, and came back in to sweep the other side of the room, smirking as she was doing it, using purposful movements, as if to placate me. I maybe could have handled the situation better, but I was just too fed up with everything at the moment to think clearly. Anyway, she asked me not to be mad at her before she left. I said, you know, I don't want to stay here either, she said she knows. What got me angry, is that I had actually made arangements for us to get done with the customers early that night, so I'll have time to do my job for that night, which was sweeping and trash. Which is something I never have time to do getting done after 8 all the time, and she used the opportunity to get out of there, and not do her job, not to even wipe the sinks down while I did these two things I hate. That really hurt me. She's complained to the manager about me taking late customers, and this is how she shows her appreciation. I just as well could have worked alone, and did fine. My point is we're better off being short handed than having dead weight around.
