Ha Ha Jeff!  Congratulations Butta, your career begins now. I couldn't wait to finally get on the floor. I was a little nervous too, I still am at times after 15 years lol. Some people can be a little intimidating, but just keep telling yourself who has (or is getting) the license. It works for me. Good luck, let us know how it goes! |

I REMEBER THE FIRST PERM I HAD TO DO IN BEAUTY SCHOOL. THIS CLIENT HAD THICK BLACK HAIR DOWN TO HER BUTT, AND SHE WANTED IT PERMED ON BLUE RODS. IT TOOK ME 6 HRS TO WRAP IT. I ALMOST QUIT THAT DAY, BUT THE PERM CAME OUT BEAUTIFUL AND SHE LOVED AND SO I DECIDED TO STAY AND THOUGHT IF I CAN GET THOURGH THAT I CAN GET THROUGH ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK , YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU'LL LOOK BACK AND LAUGH AT IT ALL. |

I was really nervous on the floor also, but I loved what I was doing and was passionate about every hairstyle I did. Practice good communication skills while you're in school and learn from your mistakes. Learn as much as you can, your time will go by really fast now. Also, ask as many questions as you can.... like why am I applying this color to her hair tone and ect. Most of all have fun! Jenn |

I agree with asking why Baby J. I have often been given a hard time by asking why something was done, and a reply saying "because that's how you do it." I feel that the only way to learn how to do something is to ask why it's done in order to understand it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I really think it shows intellegence to want to learn to think for yourself rather than simply follow. |

I worked for an idiot that answered like that. Im far superior to her now. She is on the verge of losing her business since she fired me and i started up on my own. You go out there with passion and enjoy what you do and people will love you and follow you anywhere. All the best to you. Donna |

I am sure everyone remebers their frist day on the floor, trust me you will laugh when you look back just remeber that everyone you work with started where you are. Hurray for the courage to get out there where you belong. Good Luck To YOU............Wendy |
