Hey guys...

I guess there is no ecscaping salon drama in the real world... I am so stupid to think everyone is like me and genuinly cares about everyone... It is a unfortate thing that IT IS SO NOT LIKE THAT!!
I want you guys advice on something honestly just tell me what you think.. I WON'T BE OFFENDED BY NE MEANS.. LOL That is why I wanted to come get my fellow beauty friends imput..
Ok here is the deal.. I wanna make sure I react professionally and wanna know what you guys would do if your me..

Well my asst manager came to me this morning and states..
"Leslie...MORE THAN 2 PPL HAVE CAME TO ME About you and said they are offended by you... that YOU DON'T NEED TO GIVE THEIR CLIENTS ADVICE IF THEY ASK"
I was like huh?/ **Scratched my head** I actually only member maybe 2 incidents that I along with my co workers consulted with someone elses client.. BUT ONLY BECAUSE I WAS ASKED!!??

Plus I talked to both the girls that I had discussed with "THEIR CLIENTS" and both girls said "Nah Leslie not at all I was'nt offended.. " That is fine.. They asked and you told them.. "They said" Well one of the girls use to actually be one of my students from bout 4 yrs back when I was a cosmetology instructor.. I pulled her aside privately and asked her about it.. I wanted to make sure I WAS'NT MAKING HER FEEL LIKE A STUDENT AGAIN.. Ecspecially after the fact I have seen from working with her she has exceled quiet a bit and strived hard for prefection as a stylist and is actually A GREAT STYLIST NOW!!! Queit proud of her actually being she was a former student I had.... Ne how..
She was telling me when I asked her about it.. that"NO, Leslie.. I am actually really glad your here and working with me.. I like you alot... your kool to work with.. but I heard Rox say that when she wittnessed you doing that... That time she said "Hey Steph why are u letting Leslie take over ur client like that??"  Steph((Former student of mine)) tells me that my asst manager was implying to her I was trying to steal her client.. and steph said to me that she had told my asst manager.. that. She honestly did'nt really care I talked to her client.. that she did'nt take ne thing I said to her client that I AM TRYING TO STEAL HER CLIENT!!!

Maybe I am reading to far into to it...But another co worker I thought I might of offended I talked to her too and she said the same thing..
Which MEANS MY ASST SALON MANAGER LIED TO ME..
She made it out to me THAT EVERYONE HAS A ISSUE WITH ME... When it is REALLY HER ALL ALONG THAT HAS A ISSUE WITH ME!!!!
Then she had the gal to tell me
My district leader said to her ** Cause this is the 3rd salon I have been in ** That my district leader says "I am a LAST LEG EMPLOY"
What the hell does that supose to mean..
I have not ever once caused trouble ne where!!!

I think I have been distrubed to get back to the company I love so much to fine the kind of people they have choosen to run our salons that are'nt even upholding everything the company stands for .. So yea.. I have sort of been a snitch to tell my district leader real quick of concearns I have.. which I guess had made tension with prior managers... because THEY DID'NT LIKE THE FACT I UTITLZED OUR OPEN DOOR POLICY

So I don't know.. SHOULD I COMFRONT HER.. I just want know why she felt like she had to lie  to me to address something she had a issue with me her self..
OR SHOULD I LET IT GO SHUT UP MIND MY BUSINESS AND WORRY ABOUT LESLIE????

I am just torn.. I hate being  LIED TO!!!! I plan on asking a few of my other co workers if I have offended them in that way.. that were not at work today when I see them again.. JUST FOR MY OWN PEACE OF MIND.. Cause if I have I NEED TO DO A SELF CHECK AND BE BETTER AWARE .. AND STAY FOCUSED ON MY OWN CLIENTS IN MY CHAIR..
I think it just comes from boardem of being slow and someone sitting there waiting ... on someone .. I JUST WANNA TALK... They (The clients ) start the asking advice questions..

Well I am open to sugguestions.. AND PROMISE.. LOL I CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.. I want your honest opinions of what you think I should do as professionals...

~THANKS EVERYONE~
I luvs ya all in the beauty world!!!
~ Leslie~

Well...if the girls are saying that you didn't offend them, then I don't see any reason for you to believe you did. Maybe you're right, the assistant manager does have a problem with you. I had a similar problem with a manager a few years ago...she was a pathological liar. She had caused trouble between me and new employees making it look like I didn't like them, which couldn't be further from the truth. I found out later she had exaggerated it. because of that, I would never work in her new salon she opened.

I don't think you did anything wrong talking to clients, especially if they asked you for help. After all, I really believe that we can't OWN a client! I also don't blame you if you want to talk to the DM. If your salon is not upholding the company policy, then you need to hold a meeting, all of you to see that they do in the future.

I think you should confront the assistant manager too. Tell her that this is upseting you. And I think it would be a good idea to have a shop meeting with her, the staff, and the DM as well. Keep everything in the open. Good luck, keep us posted!

hey girl,
I agree , I think it's perfectly fine to give advice to the stylist if she ask for opinions and help on a client, but if another stylist client asked my opinion I would tell her that she was in great hands with her stylist and build her stylist up so that she would have confidence in her stylist.
The only problem I can see coming out of another stylist client asking your advice is she might think that you are more capable than the one doing her hair and want to switch over to you. and I know that's not your intent at all, but it does happen sometimes.
wow girl, one thing I don't miss in the salon that's drama, I feel for you.  I'll be saying a prayer for you that it all works out with you and management. Keep your chin up and remeber everything in life is a test and how we responed to those tests makes all the difference.

My opinion is a lesson that I recently learned............YOU CAN'T TAKE OTHERS PEOPLE"S behavior / talk/ attitudes personally.  I use to, and I got hurt alot.......it is hard for me to remind myself to not take it personally.  People are complicated. and not everyone is able to say exactly what they intend or mean.  Everyone has a different nature about them, and you just have to let people act in their nature.

So try not to care so much about everyone else, yes care about you!  You deserve it.
If you happen to have an asst. manager that likes to lie, exagerate, so what.....it's her nature, and tommorrow it'll be something else.  Just be true to yourself, live by example, and I think the others are acting like babies.  People are allowed to talk.  And if the other stylists have clients that are more interested in you, and want an appointment with you that is their right and a good sign that the previous stylist didn't satisfy the customer.  If they did, the client would be loyal.

I think your actions of talking .........(answering a clients question) was professional.  I think you confronting issues with your coworkers was professional.  I also think telling everyone to busy working and quit their gossiping is also professional.
That is just my opinion.......thanks for reading.

Good Luck with them,
