I'm currently renting a salon w/a partner. I'm a single parent, and I'm stressed out.My partner and I work well together and have the basicly the same ideas. But when it comes to running the business she's not there yet. I feel that if I don't do it, it won't get done. The cleaning, towels, desk, bathroom, etc. My problem is our phone is off for non payment which is so embarrasing. I can not really afford to pay the entire bill but if I have to I will because it makes business look bad. I know that I won't see her half of the bill for a while(RENT IS DUE). Remeber I'm a single parent what would you do? Also I'v been looking into other opportunities that would be more benificial for my future w/ health& dental ,401k, long &short term disability&more exposure of my talent. Do I move on or make the best of what I have now.I'm sooooo stressed out PLEASE HELP!

This is my biggest fear if I ever decide to open a salon with a partner. Have you discussed this with her? Are you happy with running this particular salon otherwise? As long as your children aren't suffering and you're happy, then my first instinct would be to try to work it out with her, and see if she's willing to contribute more. Maybe if she is not able to cut it, maybe someone more responsible could buy her half out? This is what I personally would do, but I'd wait until someone else here who has actually had the experience to answer before you make up your mind.

Hi...
Look I think you should follow your heart... If your stressed... It not worth it sweetie.. ecspecially being a single parent... Life is far to short to be taken seriously... Unless you really think you would feel some remorse of leaving behind what you own... If you would then try to work it out and take Amy's advice.. I agree try to find someone more responseable.. to partner with... I would say if anything.. If you decided to MOVE ON... Then do your thang... rather booth renting or what ever .. going to CO salon... which do offer all those in which you were concearned about for your future. however... YOU CAN ALWAYS Open another salon again soon granted you find the right responsaible partner...
Just follow your heart is really the best advice I can offer to you more than anything else. If your that stressed though it really not worth it... Life is far to short...
and stress means for a shorter life span..
Keep us posted though on what ya do...
Best of luck my dear... Prayers for you to make the best decision!!

Sincerly,
Your fellow Salon talk girl..
