Thank you Jen, that is excactly what we're trying to say. What Leslie and I were having a private conversation about was that we both agree that our training is TOO SHORT! Not even a year goes by, and all of the sudden we're "licensed professionals". Well, it's just a shame that when we go out into the real world, and go into a salon we have to throw out everything we learned. My school in particular, did not even teach color theory. So, as you can probably guess, I had to learn the hard way, with much embarressment. In all the years doctors go through medical school, they can pretty much pick up where they left off. We still have much to learn after we get our license. So, no wonder clients question us, which is what I added on during our chat. I actually understand the skeptisism. I just wish it weren't that way. Looking back now, I personally wouldn't mind a few extra manditory years in school before we can legally work. But, that's just MY opinion. |
