I am so discouraged from what I learned today. I work for a company that rents space and I asked the person in charge of fundraising events if we could have a space in front of the building to do haircuts for Clip for the Cure event we're holding at the end of September. Basically the space is taken, which is fine we'll do it in the salon, but she said that we couldn't even hold a bake sale because it's considered soliciting! There are other salons within this corporation that it has gone off without a snag, and it's not like we're profiting from it. For God's sakes we're completely volunteering our time on a busy Saturday with no compensation for this and for this place to have this type of ruling is rediculous. It's not the company I work for it's the company that we lease space off. Ugh. I don't know how much I can put in on what company that's why I didn't put who/where and whatnot. I'm sure most of you know, Amy and Leslie alike. Thanks for listening to me vent. Marla |
