This is the truth- I believe it to be more professional to inform waiting clients on how long the wait is going to be rather than saying "I don't know". Saying "I don't know" as an answer, to me is as good as saying "go to hell" . You were right to give the answer you did. We are allowed to approximate waiting times, and to add on, but you are welcome to check back before that. It sounds like you basically did just that. It's also better to give a longer wait, like you said just to be safe. I would be surprised if she didn't have many clients angry with her. I would just keep doing what you were doing before, and not worry about her. She is being transfered anyway, so that's good. Sometimes we get a few bad apples in the bunch, but you know it always gets better. Just stop being so nice to her. It sounds like she doesn't deserve it. You don't owe her anything, and you have your own life to worry about first. Don't you agree? |
