I know exactly what your talking about! i was an apprentice at a really nice salon when i got out of school! it was such a beautiful place but the people there were so stuck up their own butts, and most of the ones just starting out wouldnt put the time into perfecting their skills so that they could be paid like the "BIG DOGS" of the salon! Those people (the top of the salon) is what made me love what i do, but the people i trained with made me hate most of the people in my own feild! I never understood how someone could take such an awesome career like this and make it torture, I meen you get to make people feel good about themselves ALL DAY LONG!!! i once had a girl in my chair that had just lost her baby that was 2 and she had a crap load of health problems because of the environment she worked in, and her friend also lost her kid, and I dont remember everything, but she was a hot mess! and ya know what... I did a little make over for her. we colored her hair, gave her a fresh hair cut and I TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN TO EVERYTHING SHE HAD TO SAY wether i wanted to or not~ she was smiling when she left! SMILING after all that she told me in her life was wrong, i was able to brighten her day with some color and a few snips!! i guess point me in the direction of another job that even comes close to that kind of feeling!
