I really think you should give her notice. Not only is it common courtesy, but you don't want to burn any bridges in case you ever want to go back. A coworker gave only a few days notice today that she was leaving, and the district manager told her to pack up her stuff and leave now. Another girl quit by not showing up at all. Now we're short handed again, and I'm planning taking my vacation in about a week. I'm taking it anyway because I earned it, and I'm taking over for my manager when she takes hers. We'll get by, it's just really inconsiderate in my opinion. I doubt either one will be hired back. 2-4 weeks notice is very considerate and professional.
