I own a one person salon. I opened it after I got a bit burnt out of owners who were bad business people. I rent a small space, put in a sink and everything I need and its all mine. I don't have to deal with owners and other stylists' DRAMA. I make all my decisions. Charge what I want. Keep all my money. My rent is very low, lower than a chair was in my neighborhood. I had to put out some money initially but it was worth it. My clients LOVE the privacy. I offer chocolate and refreshments. I have a satellite radio so they get to choose what they want to hear of over 200 music stations. I got to paint and decorate any way I wanted. No one steals my color in the back room and no one but me leaves a mess. Its *wonderful*! Karla www.flipsalon.com |
