Hi. I posted before about my puppy, Princess. Here I've got a question again. Princess is turning 19 months old. She's been having chunks of skin on the back of her neck to upper back, and I wonder why and what it is. Is it fat, or is it just skin? If it's skin, is it normal? Starting just about two months ago after I picked her up from a 10-day long boarding, I suddenly noticed she had extra chunk or two of skin on the back of her neck to her upper neck. It is getting worse...as if more and more skin is accumulating in the area. I could feel the skin to be in the way when I try to brush her hair. I don't see how it could be related to boarding. She came back from boarding looking as if she had lost weight (much bony) because I miscalculated the portion of her meal. And I don't think the border fed her with other food because one, Princess was bonier, and two, she didn't tell me she fed Princess with her own food. Now, Princess still weighs 15 pounds, but the amount of skin is making me worry. I saw a two years old Shih Tsu yesterday and notice specially that he didn't seem to have the same problem. Princess eats mostly cooked chichen now, and no dog food at all. Her meal portion is not big, but we also feed her meats when we eat and apples, too. She looks healthy and cute and lovely as always. But I wonder why all that skin. She does have very very short hair now. Could that be the reason... that if the hair was long, the skin won't be so noticable?
