I just purchased a Shih Tzu puppy for my parents. She was diagnosed with narrow nasal passages and an enlogated soft pallett that makes it hard for her to breath. She only weighs 2 pounds so she is very fragile. She snorts and once in a while when she gets excited will take a large gasp. It does not seem to slow her down, she has lived through 9 weeks and had this issue when she was most fragile as a new born, she does get in enough breath and seem to be living with it. The vet suggested (if she makes it to 6 months) there is a surgery that can be done-has anyone encountered this?
