My sister in Virginia had to have her beloved "57 mix" put to sleep Saturday following a seizure. Scruff was a street-find in 1989 and perhaps one of the most loved dogs ever. She was my sister's constant companion through several different relationships, a number of moves, and a few different pets including cats, ferrets, other dogs, and a wild animal rescue or two. We had discussed a few months ago that she would know when the time was right for Scruff to go and that she would make that decision from her heart.
Scruff passed to the

on Saturday morning around 8:30 and is now running the fields with BeeBee, who was her canine friend for many years before her own passing six years ago tomorrow.
They both will remain much loved and often missed.
