Needs to be checked for mature/adult Onsite permission here's an FAQ for all your curiosity-driven needs. please read it before emailing me with any questions. if you have a question that is not answered here, email me about it or discover the miracle that is google. allright! enjoy! 1] do you accept requests, art trades or commissions? because i am often busy, i never accept art trades or requests from people i am not close friends with! as for commissions, i occassionally take them when i have the time to do so, which is not often because school takes up a lot of my time. when i do take them, the price is roughly 70 USD for a full body piece, and i generally accept payments via paypal. currently i am not taking any but you can feel free to e-mail me with any questions or to check up on my commission status! | [2a] can i use one of your images for a layout on my website/journal? | no problem, as long as you give credit and a link back to loish.net, otherwise it's just art theft. one thing i'd like for you to do is let me know once you've posted it up so i can see it ^^ i always enjoy seeing what people have done with my images (unless you're stealing my art ;D) | [2b] i run an MSN group that makes sigs with PSP, can i get permission to use your artwork? | there is no need to email me requesting permission for this! again, it's fine as long as you write ON THE SIG that the art is by loish, and provide a link back to loish.net. please don't email me to get permission; i've gotten hundreds (no exaggeration; seriously, hundreds) of emails requesting this and it's all quite unecessary. just do what you most likely know is the right thing: give credit! | [3] how do you make your layouts? | i write them up from scratch in notepad. they're usually pretty simple table layouts. if you want to learn how to make them i suggest you do what i did and check out lissaexplains.com, it's got all the info and is oh-so-simple. if you want specific codes that aren't on that website just email me and i'll send it to you and try to explain how it works :) | [4] what is oekaki / shi painter? | [5] i want an oekaki board too - how did you set yours up? | go visit this tutorial: click! and just follow the steps. if you encounter any errors or problems then consult the suteki.nu forum. i really can't give you any advice beyond what these links have to offer! | [6] what program do you use to make your CG's? do you use a mouse? | the programs i use are... 1. photoshop 7.0: this is the program i most commonly use, because you can do so many things with it (simple coloring as well as textures, color editing, etc). almost every single CG i have posted here has been edited, if not entirely done, in photoshop. 2. painter 7.0: this program is what i use to get a paintery effect with my coloring. it lets you blend colors easily and has a very organic effect. 3. opencanvas 1.0: i rarely use this program but it is very simple and can be downloaded for free; it also gives organic smudgy effects much like painter! i don't know where you can download it (the link i used no longer exists), so try googling it if you want it!
to draw the cg's, i use a wacom intuos2 a4 oversize tablet - in other words, a giant super awesome tablet. here's a picture. | sorry, i don't accept link exchanges. i want my links section to reflect my personal inspirations and be informative for the people who visit it, rather than being swamped with every art site in existence. apologies! | [8] how did you learn to draw? do you have / will you make any tutorials? | i learned how to draw primarily by teaching myself and practicing a lot. from the age of 8 i haven't had any art lessons until i started art college, where i am not really taught how to draw but rather encouraged to continue drawing in general. i have one coloring tutorial i made for someone which can be found here and here; i also have a basic oekaki tutorial posted on deviantart here. however, i haven't made any others and i'm not really planning to. sorry! | [9] what career are you pursuing right now? | i study animation at the utrecht school of the arts in hilversum, holland; before that i spent half a year at the hogeschool gent in ghent, belgium. basically i'm learning how to animate, make storyboards, sketch, etc. it's buckets of fun. | [10] can i draw a fanart of your pictures / a picture inspired by your style? | no problem, just always give credit. please e-mail me with a link as well since i'd love to see your piece! | back
