Hi Sweet,
You really have had alot on your plate! I'm so sorry to hear about your father passing on. I can certainly relate to what it's like since I also had to deal with a "wicked" step-mother at the age of 16 when I lost my mother to cancer and my father remarried. This lady was pretty nasty so I ended up leaving home at 18 and got married and never looked back. My father passed away around 80 years of age and my step mother moved away up north with her two daughters (not related to me). To this date our family has never seen our father's will and my step mother can't be tracked down. She basically left with everything...I was lucky enough to get my mother's dish collection, but not until after my step mother had used it for years. When my father was close to passing on, he insisted that I receive the dish collection, so things did work out in that sense. My step mother and her daughters ended up with the rest of our father's estate...for the life of me I can't figure out how they did it. Nobody in our family decided to challenge it, I guess. In my scenario, our step mother wouldn't leave our father's bedside so that family could be with him at the end. Luckily, though, my big brother insisted that we have time alone with our father. There was no funeral, by request, so our family held their own remembrance of our father. To me, there's still been no closure, wondering what my step mother got away with. It boggles me how insensitive people can be, especially when we need support and forgiveness during such a time of need in our lives. I am forever grateful for the memories I have because I know my step mother can't take those away from me.
I will keep your mother in law in my thoughts and prayers. I know how terrible chemo and radiation is, as well. I'll pray for all of you to find the strength, and courage to get through this, as well.
I hope Maria's knee gets better with time. I landed hard on both knees awhile back and thought I had broke something for sure. The Dr. said we're more durable than we realize and it most likely has bruising on the bone area, so I hope that's what it is with your daughter, as well, and not something serious.
I'm glad to hear that Bob's job is going well! That's great news! I remember when my daughter started junior high, too. They really do grow up way too fast!
I think I have you on my messenger already but if it's the wrong one then you can add me if you like.
Keep us posted on how things are going for you and we'll continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers!
Dini
