Okay heres my story.... My Daughter Colleen who is now 21, married,going to College And a Pharmacy Tech.(for now at a well know dept store(LOL) ; called me and asked me if I really wanted to Quit smoking...DUh....Who doesnt. anyway she said there is this pill Chantix....That has had great sucess with people who took it just becacause there doc said take it youll stop . So for my B-Day 2/4 she paid for the perscription (i have lowsy insurance) most will cover. you take it 3 months..most people.
The 1st week you smoke w/ the pills, they dont have Nicotine they work on the craving center of your brain???
The 1st week I smoked like the tobacco business was closing for good!!! My mind was thinking this isn't gonna work, But i took my Pill as directed everytime w/ a full meal a full glass of water. then came sun 2/11 my day to stop (the pills change in doses,very easy packs) I thought I wanted a cig even lit a few but would put them out because it wasnt what I wanted. I'd drink some water instead and that was better or ate fruit, another weird thing is I wasnt wanting to eat every thing in sight. I lit cigs and stuck them under water then decided that wasnt it . just grabbed some water that was fine.
"The Real Test"...... My Daughter Shell (a lot of you know) came down with new puter 4 me...She SMOKES....we were on our way to town she had cig I said let me try a puff..I really didn't want it just wanted to see if I was really missing it.
I took a drag....oh my Gosh I Didn't, Couldnt Inhale!!! I blew it out and was choking like I had never had a cigarette in my Life!!! That was it, no desire anymore.
When I do miss that "ACTION" I remember that last puff and get a cold glass of h2o or something good for me I dont even want to eat junk anymore. Any way ask your Dr. you need script info is at
