In one of the previous posts, it was discussed that light exercise is good for fibro. I would like to do this, but I just went back to work full time, and that eats up about 11 hours out of my day. I've been making sure I get at least 8 hrs sleep/night, but this just doesn't seem like enough!!! I feel absolutely dreadful in the morning! I am afraid to add exercise to this routine. I am barely managing as is. Matter of fact, I really feel like I am bringing on a flare. I don't know because I haven't done this much physically since I first "got sick". (I hate saying sick...but can't think of what elses to call it right now) Thanks ahead for all input! Diana |

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Diana}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I can imagine how hard this is, but the light exercise is really good for you. Start off so light you are just moving then build up. Remember stretching is VERY important and might be even more important then the exercise itself. Also do you do relaxation breathing? If you don't this is a great thing to do anywhere anytime :) If you don't know it I will be happy to share it with you. I don't believe any amount of sleep will feel right until you have adjusted to your new routine. What is your job? As for what to call this other then sick? That is a good question, family any suggestions? |

You see, I wasn't sure if just the fact that I am on my feet and moving all
day counted as "exercise". I have noticed how much softer my abdominals feel as
of late, and would like to add abdominal strengthening in (have been afraid to
in case I do have McArdle's), maybe along with my stretching, and I'll
throw in a few yoga moves. Yes, I do the breathing as I do meditation and use
the breathing regularly throughout the day.
I am a nurse, but I avoid much of the physical part of it as I am in
management now (Assistant Director of Nursing).
Thanks so much for your reply!

I am glad I could help some :) As for your daily regular life, that doesn't count. It has to be above what you normally do. From what I have been told and read your daily life is your normal. Exercise has to be above that. Start out really slow and low. I have to start at what to me is nothing because of cramping but the Dr said it isn't nothing as long as you do it. Did any of this make sense? I am hurting and fogging so I am not sure. I hope it does but if it doesn't let me know and I will try again when I am not in a fog :) Mega hugs to you :) |

Great point. My daily life activity is far above what it has been since diagnosis. I am struggling to keep up with this new level, but I think in time I can adjust. Maybe I'll wait until I adjust a bit more then add in some daily exercise. I am doing some stretching now. Sound like a plan?
Thanks! Diana
