I'd appreciate any opinions, experiences and/or feedback concerning the use of "nautilus" type exercise machines for bone, joint and muscle strengthening and hopefully to help relieve the weakness, aches, pains and swelling that I currently experience.

I'm at the point, whereas mild to moderate housework (from lifting a coffee decanter, sorting through paperwork or magazines, to sweeping the floors and carrying dry laundry becomes an exercise in machocism.  This then creates a vicious cycle of guilt, feeling worthless and weak, which leads to increased depression and a sense of dependency upon my husband.

I've always considered myself to be independent, so when I do get some temporary relief, I start pushing forward again and taking two steps back.

My husband is supportive of me and is willing to act as my "personal trainer."  He has extensive experience with weight lifting and staying in shape.  He suggests a progressive program focusing upon muscle groups around the major afflicted areas for starters.

I look forward to hearing your responses.  Thank you!
