i think for trousers im 22 or 24
i thought top size i was 26 coz i tried to work it out but when i got 26 it was a little on the big side.

how can i work out my proper sizes for womans clothes.

Sarah,
When you go shopping .remember womans tops need to be a size bigger to fit across your shoulders + make sure the tops are long anough as some of the tops in the shops at the moment are on the short side.
If you are buying a set you may find the bottom halve needs to be a size smaller than the top as your hips will be smaller than a womans, you might be better buying clothes with an elastic waist . Tights, and stockings go for a good make and buy extra long or outsize. enjoy your shopping, take care Barbara

Hi,

Barbie's advice was spot on - just a reminder if you are buying skirts with elasticated waists - they are designed to stretch over the hips - if you get your correct waist size, you may find they start sliding down as you move about, so you can afford to go a size smaller. I wear 16" fixed waistband, but drop to 14" for elasticated. And,as Barbie said, your top will be relatively bigger because of your shoulders. Again, for me, dresses with any sort of sleeve have to be 18, but 16 for sleeveless. I always used to go for sleeves because of hairy arms, but unless I was lucky I looked like a sack of potatoes. Now with shrugs and other little jackets, I can wear the smaller size and it looks much better and if I need a cover up (hairs not a problem now)... it's just another gorgeous thing to buy! LOL

Enjoy tomorrow,

Nikki

Ahhh! I didn't imagine you'd be buying trousers ... as womens tops tend to be a little 'fuller' than mens, so their trousers tend to be a little tighter in the crutch.

You live and learn!

Merry Christmas
