Groups Features

O Multiply Groups enables you to share photos, videos, blogs, music, calendar events, links, reviews, recipes, and market listings on your group's site. All of these great options are an integral part of your Group experience.

O Discussions aren't limited to simple posts. Every content type, from photos and videos to calendar events and reviews, has an associated discussion thread. This makes for a more interactive and engaging experience.

O Your Group has unlimited storage space for group content, including photos and video.

O Completely customisable web site. Use one of Multiply's professionally designed themes, select from over a thousand user-generated themes, or create your own with CSS.

O Each group gets its own URL at http://groupid.multiply.com

O Flexible privacy controls include the ability to specify on a post-by-post basis whether content should be available to anyone or limited to just group members.

O Robust group administration tools, including the ability to specify which types of content can be posted by members, moderation of group posts, and approval of new members.

O Your personal Multiply "Inbox" is a centralised news feed, consolidating posts from all of your groups, as well as those from your friends and family.

O As a member of Multiply, you'll get your own personal Multiply site with all of the same benefits that apply to Groups.

O Order prints, cards, photo books and more using the photos from your personal Multiply site or any of your Group sites

This aimoo site looks very interesting it it dose what it says on the label.

Thoughts on moving here... I think we should try it out.

Thanks for the information, girls - when I get a bit of time, I shall have a close look at Aimoo - it did seem more comfortable, when I had a quick look at it, than multipy. Obviously, there's no reason why girls shouldn't join Sandra's transpace (I know Carole and I are members!) as well as whatever SCCD turns into. The problem with the yahoo sites is that they are desperately showing their age and I guess Yahoo will be doing changes there, once MSN Live has started up.

Decision, decisions .... heavy is the head that wears the wig :-)

Hi Nikki,

I do not know what others think but perhaps we should move as soon as we can this gives girls a chance to get used to the new system.

I note with interest that we are still getting new members.

Lots of hugs Carole.

Hi Girls,

No posts for nearly 22 weeks, perhaps we should move to the new system now? This could generate interest even if it is people asking questions about using the new system.

Hugs,

Carole.

Hi Carole,

22 weeks??? I get your meaning, however! :)

I have not been able to think about the transfer for some weeks because of work commitments, but we are moving.

I intend to move us, to Aimoo, over the Christmas period. I shall also cancel the SCCD website at the same time as after a initial flurry of activity, I found I had not the time to do any more.

When are you visiting the UK again? It would be good to met up!

Nikki

Hi Carole,

I suppose everyone's just marking time waiting for the changeover to Aimoo.

Plus it's Christmas.

Ah, - now there's a question are any of you girls expecting any nice things this year?

I know I mentioned to Justine that I'd run out of Anaïs Anaïs, so here's hoping!

Patti.

Hi,

Having read the link Sandra gave, the moral of the story seems to be 1/ Don't delete the group until you're sure everything's transferred and working OK. 2/ To be doubly sure, delete all the individual archive elements manually (well womanually anyway!) before deleting the group. Typical MSN though, hang on to all info that hasn't been systematically removed or requested for removal.

Worth knowing beforehand though, - thanks Sandra!

Hugs,
Patti.

Hi Girls/Nikki,

I will be unable to check the group for the next week so hope we will get a group email with details of where the group is going to...................

Best Wishes for the Season.

Carole.

Hi All,

I've had another look at Aimoo and read the cautionary tale Sandra let us know about (thanks Sandra).

What I intend doing is stripping out excess and really dated stuff from this site over the next few days, so that it does not get archived. I may also remove some of the really old pics. I don't think that we should have anything 'sensitive' that can't be in a public archive - the group has always been public BUT if you want things removed you must let me know asap or remove them yourself within the next week. I intend the switch to be on the weekend 10/11 January.

Hi Nikki, can you pleas let me know when you plan to move to which group? There seems to be some options but I'm not sure which way everyone will go, little point in getting all organised but being on the wrong bus.

love
Gilly

Hi Gilly,

I 'll be posting here and am happy to e-mail you with the final details. Although I intend moving next weekend, it has to be fitted in with cleaning this site ready for archiving ... if there is anything we wish to, that is!

The important thing for now is that we are moving to Aimoo rather than Multiply, unless anyone comes up with further information.

Nikki
