Hi Barbara, Hi Nikki, Hi girls Long time no speak but hope you all had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you all! I've just read, Nikki's post saying we are going to Aimoo, so I must check out that place and join up. I guess we will all need to be able to find and rejoin the new group, but I am sure that Nikki will look after that. Just to get a few people posting..........how about a competition, to be the last person to post on this our old group...........? When you think about it, it is a very sad time in a way, as for many of us SCCD was the start, myself included, for getting out dressed. So many girls stay in the closet for ever and Barbara is a very special person (thanks Barbie, hope you are well)...for welcoming us into her home. I know that this is not the end, but just a beginning as hopefully we will all move to the new group, but lets get a few messages out from the old stalwarts (now who are you calling old, I hear you cry?), some stories about when you first came out or the parties..............even a quick hello and happy new year, or I'M MOVING TO THE NEW GROUP......... Hi Tina,
I joined almost from day one - I think! Sue Shepherd was winding down Les Sheks, at about the same time that Barb was starting similar evenings. In fact I found out about Barb doing makeovers through Sue, and had my first makeover when Sue ran her Alternative Miss Kent in October 2001. I don't think SCC was going then though. But it was through the Alternative Miss Kent that I met BobbyJo and Wendy Davies and found out about UK Angels. At that time Barb gave my wife and I a lot more confidence about me getting out as Patti.
Not long after we went out to our night out at Stormes that December and went a few more times before Stormes closed its doors the following June. Then Transmission started up and later on Tootsies -at least for a few months (which I thought was much better than TX personally). Les Sheks finished in June or July 2002, and then in August Barb had her first social, which was a great success and more fun than Les Sheks had been. I joined SCC at some point around then.
By then UK Angels had already helped me spread my wings quite a bit, mostly through people like BobbyJo and Claire Tice, but what was good about SCC and Barbs socials was making contact with local girls esp. other Thanet girls, and the food of course - oh yes, and everyone trying to avoid winning the clunky earrings and the black stockings in the raffle. Then there was Rochelle's socials at her house and also at the Romney Grill.
Of course, at present my socialising has been somewhat curtailed due to family circumstances, but after a short hiatus where I unsubbed from SCC but in true MSN fashion then received more emails from the group than I did when I was a member! Rejoined officially about 12-18 months ago.
With this move to Aimoo, no doubt the dynamics of the group will change a bit so it will be interesting to see how it works out.

Thanks for that trip down memory lane. Of course, ! was a member on day 1! I first heard of Barbara through Angela, although she couldn't remember much (was it her first outing?) in early 2002? Then, I saw a picture of Cathy Kay on the Leas - I contacted her and she gave me Barbara's phone number. I had my first make over on 13th March 02 and my second on 27th. I was back on April 1st when I met another tranny ... eek ... BobbyJo!
I think it must have been May when I met Angela. The first party was held because Angela was coming down in July and wanted to meet friends old and new. But this time I was a bit of a fixture at Barbara's, helping out on the computer. Cathy had set up her Barbara's first MSN Group 'Make Up Advice' and I (and the rest of the world it seemed had set up my own group which I can't remember fully - TVNikki? The parties grew and then in December, Barbara and I decided to combine sites and SCCD was born.

Hi Ladies,
I joined the group on 1st Jan 2003 and it has been a privilege to be a member of such a fabulous group.
I have been to a few of the parties, enjoyed a number of makeovers and taken part in coffee mornings.
I even won the "Girl of the Month" competition once and was featured in the calender.
I also made some friends and got to understand just how many girls like us are out their.
I want to thank "The Boss" and Nikki for all the work they have put in to the group.
I look forward to joining the new group.
