"Delusion"
Deffinition 1:  Something accepted as true that is actually false.
Deffinition 2:  Unsound and misleading reasoning.
Do demons and the Devil really exist?  Let's explore this.

For centuries the religious community had been teaching about demons and the Devil...but has anyone ever physically seen either of these?  Has anyone actually seen a "demon" or the "Devil"  I don't think so.  There have been reported cases of someone having some sort of seizure during religious services and that has been passed off as being "possessed by a demon", but from the medical standpoint it was merely a type of seizure that may have been caused by an imbalance of body chemestry, or a total immersion into the religious matter that caused a temporary short circuit in the brain waves.  A seizure being caused by possession...?  I don't think so.

So why is it that many people believe that demons and the Devil actually exist?  I think part of the problem here is that religious leaders invented demons and the Devil to instill fear and hatered into their followers.  The religious communities teach about peace, harmony and tranquility and this is a good thing.  But for these to be effective they need something to work against.  So...demons and the Devil were invented to achieve this purpose.  I do also believe that they were invented to keep people faithful to the religion.  Kind of like:  "If you stray away from the religion you will be possessed by a demon!"  This would cause fear and that person would, in essence, keep the faith.

I, personally, have no problems with people believing in demons, or the Devil.  I do, however, think it somewhat childish to believe in something that doesn't exist.  It's along the same lines as believing in Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy.  They don't exist and yet, people (mostly children) believe that they do.

So the question here is:  If you believe in demons, or the Devil...do you also believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?

Did Humans and dinosaurs share the planet at the same time as some Christians have said they did?
------------------------------------------------------------
What Christians say that?

Pony, you are troubled by the 7 days of creation?

Troubled?  No.  I just think that "7 Day Creation of the
World" is a bunch of nonsense!  Speaking from the Physics standpoint...A day...which is made up of approximately 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness is 24 hours in length.  A week which is made up of 7 days is approximately 168 hours long...plus, or minus a couple of minutes.  I just can't by the bit about how God "created" an entire planet and had it set up and ready for Human habitation in a mere 168 hours!  The planet was formed during the Big Bang and took billions of years to be ready for Human habitation.

This address is the Creation Evidence Museum in Texas.  This is a Christian organization.  They are saying that dinosaurs and humans lived on the planet at the same time.  They are also saying, in essence, that the planet is only a little over 6000 years old...maybe 6000 years and a few days.  They base this by saying the mythical Adam & Eve were here was only 6000 years ago.  Planet Earth?  Only 6000 years old?  I don't think so!  Try 4.6 billion years old!

Pony,
If I thought you were worth the effort, I'd type up a few chapters from The Science of Creation by Wayne Carver, but I can't see wasting my time. You have your view, other people have theirs. I find it facinating the people you call lunatics, when we have our own resident lunatic right here. I don't have much in common with pagans or lunatics, so I'll bid you both adieu.

Well now!  Most Christians I can handle because they are reasonable and will listen......But these guys at the Creation Museum are totally off the wall!  They are defying known science!  They are saying that the Earth is only 6000 years old.  It has been proven by science that the Earth is in the neighborhood os 4.5 billion years old.  They are saying that dinosaurs and Humans existed on the planet at the same time.  The dinosaurs were wiped out 65 million years ago by an asteroid that smacked into the planet in the gulf of Mexico...not proven, but the indications point that way.  Humans didn't appear on the planet until way after that.

So really?  Wh are the lunatics here?  Known science, or the guys at the Creation Evidence museum?

Pony, It is possible that God measures time DIFFERENTLY from people. 2 Peter 3:8. "But do not let this one FACT escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." You might want to read "(234) A Brief History of Light." It is at http://www.bibledecoded.com/understanding234.html  .The article talks about the creation of the universe. Evidence for God from Science at God and Science.org is at http://www.godandscience.org/frames.html  .The website talks about evolution vs. design, etc. Pony, we are concerned about you and your soul. God loves everyone. I hope and pray, that someday you will change your mind. Your Christian Sister, Teresa
