...boy that's scary. Possibly lots of jobs lost as well if they actually close. Fortunately I don't have any gift cards. Thanks for passing on the information Sylvia. I really appreciate it. |

I wonder too if they are going to close. I go shopping at bed and bath and circuit city, but no gift cards. |

Yes, I love both the Linen's store and the Bed/Bath.... they're pretty much the same, but have some different things. Not all bankruptcies end in closures.... hopefully some kind of financial deal will be made to keep them open. Closest ones are 45 minutes away so I don't get to them.... no money to spend in them... and now no gas to spare for a leirsure window-shopping type of trip. Gotta make every gallon count these days... |

I was just checking on a party plan company... and this was on their web site. I thought it might also explain what's going on with the companies above... and that maybe they too are simply "restructuring" in order to PREVENT closing down. We shall see in time.... Here's part of what the company had to say. (They intend to be "better" after getting things fixed.) I added the underlines below.... Home Interiors & Gifts , Inc. announced on April 29 , 2008 , that it and certain of its subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of Title 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code for the Northern District of Texas (filing number 08-31961) in order to re-align the Company's business operations and restructure its debt. The Company intends to work with its constituencies to exit bankruptcy as expeditiously as possible, while executing on its reorganization plans. Home Interiors' Mexican and Canadian subsidiaries as well as Domistyle, Inc. were not a part of the filing. | | |
