Hi Rosie.... lol....sorry, can't obey you this weekend...... but I sure will take time to relax a bit after the 31st and all is totally finished and we turn the keys to the apartment into the office!... It is supposed to rain quite a bit here tomorrow.. Saturday... so the moving part is going to be done on Sunday instead. And since I am so behind in packing my stuff etc... all day must be spent doing that.. so it will all be ready for my husbands friends to load on the trailers Sunday. I take that back... Sunday night... after everyone is gone, and we spend the first night in our house... we will be doing some resting and relaxing!!...lol. Then Monday will have to be spent cleaning the apartment etc.. Gotta get back to it! I do so appreciate you being here. Hugs, Grace |

Hello Rosie. Thank you for thinking of me and my having a nice week end. I sure do hope you have a nice week end too. The weather here is rainy and awful out and not much to do these days. I still go over to the parents during the day. Some days are short than others. They still want to hang on to alot of their duties which I cant blame them. But I do things like laundry and regular cleaning. They treat me real good just like a daughter. After moving here 6 years ago, I still have a hard time adjusting being away from family and friends which I have been with all my life. I keep touch with my family in emails here. I still dont know many people here in town. I do go to the ladies prayer meeting and church which I very much look forward to. The ladies always give me those smiles and hugs which I can never get enough of. My 2 sons live on their own and when my husband is at work I am very much alone, beside being with the parents. My evenings are quiet but nice. I still keep touch with the church down in my hometown. They always email me and at times call me on the phone. I am the oldest of 5 girls while growing up and the quietest one. I dont do places too much but find things to do around here at home. In the spring and summer I am outside alot working in my garden and flowers beds. But for now I will settle with looking at my bulbs sprouting out of ground and keeping my mind on those fun days ahead. I sure do hope you have a wonderful week end too. It is great to visit with you here. Hugs Marilyn |

Rosie, Thanks but I did not make the mailbox.........that was made for me...... Yes, wouldn't it just be great to have get together with everyone and really get to know each other? I would sure be willing to make the trip. Husband and I traveled quit a lot the first five years after he retired. so had my share for a while but think that I would be ready in a flash to travel if I could meet my friends! I do think that group size matters, large groups can be nice but I just like the smaller ones......seems like people are more friendly (have time to be, lol) and it is easier to get to know the people in group. Ok, I am off to get my evening coffee, take care and do write again......hugs. |

Hello Rosie. I use to be pretty good at gardening when I use to live in California. I lived there my whole life and knew the weather and timing and what to plant back then. But here in Oregon its all different weather and since I been here 6 years now I still am learning on what to plant in this cooler weather. I have started small garden so far. I have planted lots of marigold and snapdragon and a row of sweet peas. My vegetable are bell pepers, tomatos, egg plant and onions. On the other half of the garden I have lots of strawberries that grow and come back every year. The parents love the garden and eating what I pick for them. I have lots od daffodyl (spelling) and few iris and bagonias (spelling) and tulips. I just love the outdoors in nice weather. Gardening here is much different from where I use to live. I get few magazines in the mail about gardening and love reading them. It sounds like you have a large yard which is nice. Here lots of tall pine trees grow and lots of shade. So I have few sunny areas to work with. Today here was a nice sunny day but still on the cool side. I sure is great to hear from you. You have a goodnight. Hugs Marilyn |

Hello Rosie. Great to see you here. You say you use to live near Berkley area in California. I was born and grew up in Sacramento only few hours away from there. I remember as a little girl we used to visit grandma in Hayward which is close to Berkley. This sure does raise up alot of memories for me. Of course I am here much of the time alone and some memories do come alive to me. Even though I am with the parents in the day and husband late nights after work, I still have a lot of quiet time to myself here. My cats ( old kitties ) keep me in good company with their purrs and cuddles. Do you have pets? My old kitties are my joy and so precious. It sure great to see you. You have a wonderful evening. Hugs Marilyn |

Hi Rosie. I too feel that pets are wonderful. My cats fill those little empty wholes in my days at times. I was married twice before but it didnt work because they both had a drinking problem. My husband now dont drink and is good to me. Didnt understand though why I chose someone to marry that drinks after growing up with an abusive step father who drank too. I was the oldest of 5 girls and had most of the blames put on me. Maybe thats why I am so quiet. Those memories do come alive on me at times. Anyway those days are an another story. I dont want to burden anyone on that subject. Those places you mentioned in California I remember going on rides through those towns and around the bay area. I had another grandmother lived in Vallejo too. Today is a beautiful day with the sun fully shining out. I surely cant wait till spring to come. I just finished cleaning the parents bathroom and now am resting. It sure is great to see you again. You have a wonderful day. Hugs Marilyn |
