I think we are talking about a very identifiable mental illness that crosses all religious and racial divides.

I would call it Xenopathy, because is is most like a Sociopath; the only difference is that people they identify with are treated with dignity and people outside the "Pale" are not considered to be human.

We can "Identify" Sociopath's brain patterns and can observe physiological reactions and traits that only sociopaths have. So I would conclude that it is quite possible through brain scans and other methods to determine this to be a Psychological Disease. Furthermore it is more then likely that some one that "Hates" for any reason has the exact same patterns in their brain; except no one has tested Reconstructionists, Jihadists, Commissars and Skin Heads to verify it.
