The Auction Block is dedicated to offering a stable and meaningful experience for players whose creativity ranges from one end of the spectrum to the next, so we have a few rules we've laid out to provide this. Our documents here contain reasonable terms and information regarding how we will do our best to serve you, and how we expect members to behave within The Auction Block’s domain. Here are some important rules to remember:

Do not harass, abuse, or threaten others outside the scope of any running game or storyline.

Do not berate anyone's work, constructive criticism is allowed, but blatant disrespect will NOT be tolerated.

Do not Spam this community or any account within this community and do not add at will people to your instant messengers without the person(s) prior approval to do so.

Do not post copyrighted content without permission.

Do not invade the privacy of others.

Do not violate U.S. law or local laws in anyway.

Violating any of these rules in any way will result in the expulsion of your account in conjunction with the deletion of any work you have placed in this community.

1. Leave your OOC out of the game. It will not be tolerated. Do not take what happens to your Character during play personally. We have mature elements in this game and it is not for the faint of heart.

2. We require logs of all role-play, whether ran by Storytellers or privately, anything in role-play that your character does, you must submit a summary of events that have take place. You are responsible for logging these sessions on the boards and keeping all players up to date as to your charries events.

3. All open sessions are for all players to participate in. If you are in main session and decide you have issues with another player and this character is kept out of the main loop, we will come down on you like the sun and fry your ass for it. THERE ARE NO CLIQUES HERE! Everyone gets to play here.

4. Don't be too attached, if you are playing in a setting neutral to any genre or an unsecured genre location, your character is fair game..there will be no fussing about. Do not keep your character hanging out constantly in a secured setting and never playing them where they might encounter danger or death.

5. Use of OOC information as IC information or by "vivaciously" finding a way to bring it into RP is not tolerated. KNOWLEDGE HAS TO BE GAINED.

6. Be courteous to your fellow players OOC. You should not expect everything to be dropped for you the minute you sign on. Other players require attention as well. You will have to wait your turn to be helped, but we will get to you.

7. Keep OOC to a minimum during play. You have an IM, use it if you want to chit chat with players.

8. You must trust the Storytellers and not give them excessive crap nor continual complaining. We all shall try to listen to your take on rulings made. But we do not bend unless we find an error, or you can provide for us a source as to our mistake.

9. Don't go around being all open about your Character IC. That's ill-advised. If you are a player that plays your Character like a moron that just blurts out all about its true nature and agenda, or role-play secrets; we will use this against your character and this could possibly cause your charries demise.

10. Be prepared for session. Keep current with information given to you via email, or community posts.

11. We are here to run a Chronicle, and to have fun. Feel free to ask us questions and get assistance with your developments.

12. Do not drop Storylines that are not looking good for your Character. Sure if a Storyline holds no interest for you or your Character, don't enter it. However, if you are interacting with another player character and that interaction results in a little or a storyline that perhaps is not holding your interest do your best to play it out to a natural IC resolution. Respect your fellow players and give them good play as you would like to have them do for you. We will protect players from having their hard developed storylines taken away by this kind of immaturity and amateurism. We will kick you out of the community fast. There will be no second chances and it hampers everyone’s time and effort.

13. Finally, we will not tolerate any excessive lack of self-control from any player. We are not your parents. If you can't relax and get into the RP, then go and take your problems somewhere else.

Legalities

We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of thirteen, to remain consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998. To address COPPA, we will not permit children under age 18 to participate in The Auction Block's RP services. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but it is simply the easiest way to deal with the problem. We do not allow ANY members that are under 18 to join. However, if you are aware that your young child is using our service and would like their account terminated, please contact the community managers and the accounts will be terminated immediately:

What is COPPA?

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was signed into law on October 21, 1998 and is effective as of April 21, 2000. The purpose of COPPA is to regulate the online collection and use of personal information provided by and concerning children under the age of thirteen. On October 21, 1999, the Federal Trade Commission, pursuant to the requirements of COPPA, published final rules in the Federal Register implementing COPPA. The Rules set forth the specific manner in which entities are expected to comply with, and how the FTC will enforce, COPPA.
