Hi my name is Lynn.  I am a school bus driver, not married but I've been with my man for 15years now.  My "kids" consist of 12 cats Amy, Azriel, Bart, Bernadette, Boo Boo, Chaos, Elmo, Ernest, George, Frederick, Sadie and Tom. 10 live in and 2 live out(these two are nearly feral and I haven't been able to get them to come in even when its zero out).  For years I've taken in strays, got them sterilized and either kept them or found them homes.
I have 3 beautiful ducks, 2 pekin and 1 Mallard.  I got the Pekins at feed stores and I found the Mallard when it was about 1 or 2 days old.  It followed one of the kids to the bus stop and I just couldn't leave it to get run over.  The Pekins are Daisy who is 3 months and Pip who is 1 month and Peach the mallard is 6 weeks.  Peach an Pip will get new names as soon as I know what sex they are.  My baby ducks live in the house as well.  During the day they go outside to their pen where I have two small pools.  At night they come in.  They spend the night in a large play pen I built for them in their room.  When the weather is nasty they wear diaper harnesses and stay in during the day.  I used to have another duck Mya but sadly she died on Easter Sunday this year.  We had her for a year and she was the sweetest girl.  Something attacked her and we took her to the vet.  They might have been able to save her but treatment sounded long and painful with no guarantee of success.  I just couldn't put her through that so we had her put to sleep.  She is buried right next to our cabin up north. I cried for days afterwards so Larry told me to call around and get another.  I ended up with 3.
I also have 9 chickens, Lorelei, Jasmine, Rosie, Ruthie, Sophia, Angel, Bella, Jenny and Shirley.  They are all different breeds.  I'm not real educated on chicken breeds so I can't tell you which ones.  Lastly we have a Turkey named Ester. She got pretty plump over the winter and was having trouble walking.  We really had to push her to get her moving and get some exercise.  Now she comes out of the pen by herself and mosies around all day.
I have obtained most of my Duck information from  thegoosesmother.com.  She has pet ducks and geese that live with her in an RV most of the year.  They travel around to Renaissance festivals as Mother Goose.  If you want your duck or goose to live in the house with you go to this website it is very informative.
Well thanks for letting me join!

I am Deb aka Nefer.  I live in Fredonia, New York with my Husband Dale (the most wonderful hubby there is), my two kids, and a host of critters.  I run the Double 'D' Ranch:  Deb & Dales' Home for Wayward Bunnies since 8-02 and have rehomed over 100 bunnies so far.  We love our birds and look forward to when the little ones come (chicks, ducklings, goslings, and turkey chicks)!

I enjoy being a part of the Gab and am learning about poultry from here as I go along with my birds.  The members here are great; I recommend it to anyone who is getting into poultry.

Christina AKA Chickenwings

Hello - I'm Christina and I'm a basketmaker from Fife, Scotland.  I have 13 adult chickens and some 40+ chicks, 6 ducks and 4 Guinea fowl - and I love them all.
In my spare time I dabble in a bit of gardening, weaving, hand-spinning, quilting & other crafts and but my passion is history, archeology, travel, food and exotic blooms .  I wonder if it's possible to combine them all into one fantastic job?

Laura AKA Petlover33463

Hi, my name is Laura, but both my daughter and I post under "petlove". Usually it's me though.  I've been married 25 years to my husband, Mark, who puts up with the animals because he loves us, and is totally outnumbered. We have 3 children all of which live at home, 2 daughters ages 22 and 18{ the 18 year-old is the one who sometimes posts}, and 1 son aged 15 all of which are crazy about animals like me. Sadly Mark just doesn't understand our facination with critters. We live in South Florida. Our non-human family members include 8 Chihuahuas,2cats,9aviaries of birds, fancy pigeons, cockatiels, budgies, ringnecked doves, diamond doves, several kinds of finches, button quail, blue scale quail, gamble quail, and valley quail, a red golden pheasant,  several kinds of bantam chickens, mille fleur, mottled japanese, antwerp belgian blue quail, and gold laced polish, In addition we also have dwarf rabbits, sugar gliders, some exotic rodents, and a virginia oppossum. This does not include animals that come and go like rescued birds, fostered kittens, fostered puppies, and litters of puppies that the 8 chihuahuas have. I think that's everything at least for now. We have an incubator full of bantam laced polish eggs because of the five we have right now only 2  are bearded and I want only bearded to breed so I'll give the others to friends in our local poultry club, who have a bunch more room. We often take the chickens and pet them in the evening while reading or watching TV, so they are really tame. I don't think that chickens are  the smartest of all our birds. but they surely are some of the sweetest. I am disabled {I hate that term} so my son takes care of all the animals. Since I can't go out in the heat except to the car and back, Jeremiah brings various animals in for me to see and play with during the day. When it cools down a bit say in October I'll spend alot of time just sitting out there watching the birds and gardening { something I can do sitting down}. Sometimes I go into the aviaries and sit and enjoy the birds flying around me sometime  alighting on me, eating treats. I love the baby finches, doves and pigeons who are so wide eyed and totally unafraid that they don't even need a treat to coax them to sit on your finger or shoulder. I guess 'nough said. I'm sure you can get a pretty good picture of what life is like at my house.

Jeannine AKA Chickenlover

Hi! I am Jeannine, I'm a chick-aholic! Ooops that should be on a different post! Anyway, I'm fairly new to this chicken thing though I did have a few years ago along with some geese(that were sold to me as ducks) and a couple of mustangs. We moved to the country a year ago and I promptly started acquiring all that my heart desires in the way of farm-yard animals! We have about 30 chickens with 2 incubators going for some more, 2 turkeys, a duck, a goose, 2 pygmy goats which I adore, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. Soon to add a pony for my darling daughter, a beautiful 4 month old shetland/miniture horse pony size colt. I've been married to my knight for 10 years this December and we have sooo many childern, 5-3 boys ages 20, 15, and 2 and 2 girls ages 16 and 6~ in a few days. I joined the Gab almost a year ago and have been loving it ever since! I've met so many wonderful people here and have a hard time staying away. I've also written a few articles for the Gab Library, which is great fun for me as I get to learn so much from the research to do them. I love to read just about anything, crafting when I get the chance, gardening, and hanging with my kids, they are such fun! And for Deb, it's good to know I'm not the only one that eats off the kids plates!
