Chakra Meditations What follows are a couple of techniques used in accordance with the chakras. You have already read and hopefully tried the other techniques: cleansing and "energy-stem". Here are a couple more to further you along. You may like part of one technique and part of another, that's okay, mix them together modify them any way you feel comfortable with or even incorporate the two together! Remember too the breathing techniques mentioned earlier and use them No matter what you come up with, the important thing is that you feel comfortable and that YOU DO IT! ~*~ The Cord One good technique involves the use of visualization and an "astral cord". This method can be used for"grounding", (staying in touch with the Earth energy), and also of a simple meditation practice. It will also help you keep in touch with your physical body and you may want to try this first before you begin your meditation(s) and affirmations. ~*~ To begin, seat yourself in a straight- backed chair with your feet flat on the floor and your spine and head straight. Keep your arms and legs uncrossed and place your hands on your thighs, palm- side up. Close your eyes, settle in and relax. Clear your mind of the junk as best you can. Try the "window shade" technique mentioned in the first meditation of relaxing from your feet all the way up. When you are ready, imagine a cord (or pole if you will, a string, rope, wire wood, anything that appears in your mind.) This cord is full of energy and runs from the base of the spine--first chakra or Root Chakra. This cord connects from there to deep within the Earth's center. If you live in a high-rise, no worry. Pass the cord down through the levels, the pavement, and into the ground and stretch this cord to the very center of the Earth itself. ~*~ Feel the energy through the cord flowing between your chakra center and the Earth. Take time to explore the other centers, pay attention to what you feel and see. If corrections or alignments are needed now would be a great time to do it. Stay as long as needed or wanted until you feel the uninterrupted flow coursing through fluidly. This will assure your body that it is safely connected to Mother Earth and in its security, will be more readily to accept any new energies to which you will submit it to. ~*~ Again, do not worry if you can't keep it connected in your mind on the first few tries. Its not easy and quite alien if you have never tried it before. If you don't get quite a clear image, too, don't fret about it. Time and practice are the only way you will begin to feel comfortable and also be able to relax and visualize with relative ease. Keep this energy and image in your mind Do not break the connection. Allow the energy to fill you up and when you are ready, slowly stand to an upright position stretch and stamp your feet. This act puts the "lid" on the energies so no leaking can occur and acts as its own "seal of approval" so to speak. You should feel a genuine sense of well-being yet empowered by the energy and your mind will certainly be in a much more receptive mood. |
