"Tips To Help You Look & Feel Your Best"
------------------------------------------------------------
Most women tend to think about lightening their hair when
deciding on a color. During the winter months, going darker
actually has a few more benefits. Deeper haircolor brightens
your complexion and adds richness and shine. Becoming a
brunette doesn't mean you have to look like "Elvira." Your
skin tone should play a factor in which brunette shade you
choose to give you the best look...
Darker skin, such as African-Americans, Indians, Middle
Eastern, Hispanic, etc... Look for browns in rich mahogany
and chocolate tones. This will accentuate your complexion
and intensify your eyes...And if I may add an extra two
cents worth here on this one...PLEASE refrain from adding
highlights that include orange, brassy orange, pumpkin
orange, yellow-orange, yada, yada, yada. While you may
think it looks "Mahvelous," I can assure you...it does not!
Medium skin tones...Rich coppery or chestnut browns give
warmth and a glow to your hair and complexion...
Olive skin...Coffee and toffee browns will do the trick
for you. These shades are yellow-based and will bring
out the gold in olive skin. This creates warmth and softness
to the face...
Fair skin...Auburn browns and caramel browns are the way to
go to give your complexion the zip it needs!
Basically, and without offending blondes out there, too many
women "obsess" about being a blonde, when in fact, more women
should NOT be a blonde and aren't doing their appearance any
justice. While the "media focus" may be on the blonde in more
cases than not, in the "real world" more men polled admire a
brunette's looks when asked. Again, no hate mail from the blonde
population please unless you are a natural blonde. (Figured THAT
would cut down the amount of hate mail drastically.) http://www.gophercentral.com
