Ocean-Bubble Meditation

To add a "fun" twist to this meditation, purchase some bubbles and go blow
some first.  While doing so, make sure you pay close attention to the bubbles.
Get the "magic" feel one gets from blowing them.  See them in detail and
allow the child within to play a bit and perhaps when you relax to meditate,
s/he will be quieter for you!

For an added thought, night bubbles when the m
oo
nlight is full adds a bit to
the adventure!  Remember to play some in life, so that you can be less stress
full, and calmer in your mind when you choose to meditate.

A happy mind is a cooperative mind!

As with any meditation, you should approach this as a time to give to
yourself.  With all we give to others, it is important that we not leave our
"selves" out of the generosities! Don't forget to turn off the telephone so that it
cannot disturb you while you relax and meditate.  Secure the area so that
you'll not be distracted.  You deserve this time of peace and no one has a right
to keep you from creating a better you!

Seat yourself comfortably.  (Some like to meditate laying down, but that
does tempt one to nap.  For the sake of this meditation, I recommend sitting
up.)

Begin by taking a few deep, cleansing breaths.  Seeing the exhalations as
dark streams of negativity leaving at your command.  As you breathe in,
fill the body with golden or white cleansing light.  When you feel the tension
draining from your body, breathe deeply once more.  Begin flexing and
relaxing each body part starting with your feet and ending with the crown of
the head.  When you feel you are completely relaxed, continue on.

See yourself in your private sacred space.  Doesn't matter where it is as long
as you feel safe and protected in there.  Move around in your space a bit
getting comfortable.  Then step beyond the boundaries into a beautiful
garden.  This space too is sacred and protected.  You may keep it connected to
your sacred space if you so desire.  Take a deep breath and smell the air
around you.  Feel the cool glow of the night
moon
overhead.  See the
moonbeams
glistening off the waters in a fountain in the center of the
garden.  Make this statue anything you want it to be.  See the details.
Explore this garden a bit.  See what flowers are there, what trees provide
shadows in the night.

There are tombstones off to one side in a garden full of habits you've rid
yourself of in the past.  Each one glows brightly with the successes you've
had in overcoming your own short-comings in the past.  This garden of
tombstones should feel very sacred to you!  Take a moment to pat yourself on
the back for your achievements in this world.  Take a moment to thank those
who have assisted you in your growth as well.
Then take another moment to relax and enjoy the glow of your successes!

There is a small grassy clearing here, well maintained, with a soft blanket of
grass just waiting for you to sink your toes into it.  Walk over to it and sit
down on the grass.  Feel free to remove  your shoes and sink your feet deep
into the grass.  Relax and feel the surge of Mother Earth beneath your feet.
Breathe in the air and feel yourself relax completely once more.

Now call up a beautiful bubble to surround you.  Clear, safe, and able to pass
through anything safely.  Step inside this bubble and know that you will be
safe.  You can breathe normally, you can see all around you, and you can
pass safely through anything as long as you remain inside this bubble.
This bubble is your transportation for the meditation, and you remember that
you can call it back to you anytime you want to safely travel in the future.

The bubble slowly starts to sink into the earth.  Inside, you are unaffected by
anything, including temperature.  This will be a comfortable ride for you.

All around you, the earth surrounds the bubble.  The earth is dark and moist.
You seem to be able to catch the scent of moist earth, safely inside your
bubble.  The air is not penetrating the bubble, but rather your mind is.
Allowing you to experience the smells and sounds without any danger
involved.  As the bubble sinks down through the earth, it begins to gradually
pick up speed.  The ride is smooth and relaxing, and in no time, you notice
that the earth is getting wetter on the other side of your bubble.  The moisture
increases gradually until you find yourself settling in a pocket of water.
This is an underground river.  All around, a cavern opens up, giving plenty
of space to explore at another time should you choose to return.  For tonight at
least, we will continue to sink down into the river.  It is much deeper than it
appeared to be, and before long, all around there is nothing but water and
under water life.  Take the opportunity to look around and watch the life as it
moves around, seemingly oblivious to your presence.  See plants and other
water creatures moving about.  Take time to really enjoy this scene!  The
bubble glides softly to a stop in the middle of nothing but water.

Slowly, all illumination leaves you, and you are suspended in mid-water, in
the comfortable embrace of darkness.  Take a few minutes to just revel in the
peace as it surrounds and permeates you.  Feel the calm settle deep within
your self.

Water is one of the first forces we become aware of, it is the symbol of
emotions, it is what we secrete when we are sad or happy, it is a powerful and
moving force!  The waters surrounding you are calm.  Feel this calm.  Allow
it to settle deep within.  Any time you feel your emotions getting out of
control, you can recall this "scene" as well as this feeling of calm to help ease
and control powerful emotional moments.

Now call to mind the last time you lost control of your emotions, allowing
yourself to be volatile, weak, afraid, whatever might have made a situation
worse by allowing it to explode uncontrolled.  Feel the emotion fully, knowing
you can experience that emotion safely inside your bubble.  Take time to
familiarize yourself with the moment.  What was the precise moment you lost
control?  Were there warning signs you ignored?  Were there opportunities to
change the outcome that you didn't take because you were so caught up in the
emotion that you couldn't "see" straight?

Now breathe and relax again, still considering the incident.  Keep deep
breathing, gently and evenly.  This is one of your first warning signs!
Usually when we are out of control, so is our breath.  If we take a few
moments to calmly just breathe, often we can avoid ugly moments we will
regret at a later time.

Now take a few more minutes to consider how you "might" have handled this
incident had you been in control.  Had you taken the time to breathe calmly.
During this time of breathing, we have the opportunity to consider results of
possible actions one is about to take.  When we act rashly and driven by
emotion, we often do not obtain the results we hope for.

Now re-stage the incident in your mind.  This time, once through in a
manner much more healthy than the first time.  (The "real" time)

This time see yourself confidently handling the situation without allowing
your emotions to get out of control.  Remember that you cannot control the
actions of other, thus getting upset by their actions only blinds your options.
If you can get through this without allowing yourself to be angry, you have
already taken the first opportunity to "control" your own emotions.
Sometimes it is not possible to step away and look in from a "safe" distance.
That is why we need to be aware of the signs our bodies give us when we are
losing ourselves in emotions.

Sometimes emotions are good.  However, if they are out of control, they are
attempting to teach us a lesson.

Now any tension you feel in your body, allow it to scatter out of you, inside
your bubble.  Surrounding you, you see a hazy cloud.  Change your bubble
from clear to violet and then help push the emotions out into the river you are
resting in.  The violet light will help remove any negativity as it returns the
energy you no longer need to the river of emotions.  When you feel it is gone,
allow the violet light to fade and the bubble to return to clear once more.

Now allow yourself to just relax in the darkness, enjoying the new sense of
calm that has settled over you.

Remember you can return here any time you like, safely, to rejuvenate and
rebalance your emotions.  While you relax, allow your mind to wander a bit
and see where it leads you.  You might also choose to spend this time
conferring with your guides.

When you feel you are ready, allow the bubble to rise slowly once more,
through the water, up through the moist earth, up as the earth begins to
become more arid.  Up until you are once more in your garden.  As you
completely enter your garden, the bubble dissipates completely.

Take a few minutes to enjoy the garden, or go back into your sacred space,
before you return to an alert state of mind.

When you choose to open your eyes, you will be well refreshed, calm and alert.
All the details of this meditation will stay with you, though I do recommend
writing them down as the mind likes to work on scenery and improve or
embellish from time to time!

Remember you can do this any time.  If you feel inclined to allow tears or
laughter or growls or excitement come through, relish the emotions.  Tears
cleanse, as does laughter.  Growls are safe ways to get rid of frustration and
everyone should wallow in a bit of excitement in their lives!
