Maybe this could be a place we can say Good Morning to each other at the start of our days, or Good Night at the end of a day.

Evening all (why do I feel like I should be bending at the knees, hands clasped behind my back and saying it three times?)

I spent most of the daylight hours of Thursday, sitting on a dining room chair, in the window of my living room.............(ah, brings back memories of when I used to sit in the window when I worked the Red Light District of Amsterdam )..............it was a dull old day, actually, it was overcast most of the day, and raining most of the day too, so the light was not too god - but - the blasted furry bag is finished!!!

(Pause for applause).

I learned several things that day.
1. Never, ever, ever again, try to sew fur, fake or otherwise.
2. Buy a buggy snuggle next time!!!
3. I hate sewing
4. The reason why they attach the fronts of these bags, by zip and not velcro.

Sewing velcro is horrible, fortunately, the machine was able to do the velcro on the front cover, however, as the back/seat is twice as thick, THAT had to be done by hand, and my hands are so sore!!  I used a thimble to push the damn needle through, but it was the pulling it through that hurt.

I hate it of course, but Barbara loved it.
She fitted it immediately, and when it came time to walk into town (about a mile and a half), Hayden seemed to love being in his black bag, mind you, I think he thought it was my cat Sid.  We did find that the bag is too long, but I did do it to their measurements.............I am pretty sure I got the conversion right, but all we did was fold it under at the footplate of the pushchair, and secure each side with bulldog clips.............when I am in Scotland I think I will get two kilt pins to take the place of the bulldog clips.

Hayden must have been warm and comfortable because he slept all the time we were out, and I have to admit, he did look snug, and when we got home and he woke and we lifted him out, he was warm and toasty.

But it was a buggar to make, and I will NOT be going into production LOL.

My machine is still cowering at the back of the kitchen cupboard anyway - and I managed to break the blasted needle.

Other than that, well, printer is still playing up - even though DH says he has now put Epson inks in, but fortunately I managed to get all the letters printed off and most of them posted, which reminds me,

*****Thank you Lesley****

Your card arrived today - the postman had to deliver it standing on his head, well he had to be able to read it didn't he

I have Hayden's toys in the toybox, and all wrapped up as one huge present, and I have a cardboard box with lots of little pressies for Barbara and Jon, inside it, they are all wrapped and labelled, and the cardboard box is ready to wrap up, hopefully before we go to Scotland on Tuesday - I just need to get a large diary for Barbara, she expressed a wish for one whilst we were mooching around the shops.  But I need to try to get it bought and wrapped, and then the box wrapped and addressed to Barbara and Jon. before we leave because I know she will go mooching around otherwise.

There is a little video of Hayden playing the guitar - as ever, I am waiting for Barbara to send these things to me so that I can share with all of you, but Jon was sat on the sofa with Hayden, and he was playing the guitar - then Hayden began reaching for it, so Jon did the chords and let Hayden strum - not bad at all!!

My friend Stephen tried to help me copy pictures across from my msn groups, he used his wife's ID to go into my family group, and he saw for himself, the problems, because his machine is faster than mine, it only took 30 seconds from clicking a thumbnail to a picture appearing on the screen, whereas it takes me 45...........so he said he would see what he could do.

He phoned me back later to say he had found a dodgey copy of a programme that says it will copy your pictures from msn groups, to, I presume, your computer, he said it cost $10, which he said was to buy the programme, but he had found a way of getting it for free.  So he did all the pictures from my family group and put them onto disc for me.

Well I have almost finished getting all the pictures from my storage group, into photobucket, so thought that would be it...................sadly, no..............the programme has only copied some pictures from each album, from my family group, and I don't have the heart to tell Stephen, because he thought he was doing me a favour, and for me to tell him it was not really much help, would be like a slap in the face, so I bent the truth slightly, I emailed him tonight to thank him.  I said that I have been off the computer for the last couple of days - sewing a fur bag LOL - and have only just put the disc on to check it - that was all true, but I said that from what I have seen so far, the pictures are normal size (he was worried they would be thumbnail size)................

So, the fight is still on to get my pictures from my family site, off, before msn kicks us out.  Until I find a home to open the group up again, I will store them in photobucket and give the password to those who shared the group before.

Tommye - snow?  Wow.
Apparently it blanketed the north of England here, where we used to live in North Yorkshire, but then, it always did, however, Scotland was not hit as much as they expected...............you know why - they are waiting for me to get there next week so that I can make deformed snow angels

LJ - yes, I did notice the red hair LOL - I will say no more except......be thankful she does not live in England - we are not liked here

Evening all, I got my tree up and all decked out, at least as much as it is going to be, so that at least is a relief. Went and visited David today also. Has been almost a month since I have seen him. It was very cold, in the 30's and looked like snow all day, but haven't seen any as of almost midnight now.
Joy, I am glad you got the furry thingy done for Hayden. I am like you I guess, the sewing machine is my enemy! I only use mine when I have too. Glad that it worked out well for you though and keeps little Hayden all crispy warm.
I went online and bought almost all of my Christmas gifts, so now they just have to get shipped to me and all wrapped up. Til then, my tree is naked under it.
Tony, I am wishing you and Donna a very Merry Christmas too!
And LongJohn, you have a beautiful little grand daughter! That red hair is gorgeous and I know you loved every minute of staying with her!

I guess I'll get tired of doing it but one never knows does one?? LOL

I know I'm early Joy but have a great trip to Scotland hope it goes well for you.

Well nothing much to report here.  Lovely photos again JT.

Have a great day everyone and for those in winter stay warm and dry.

Thank you Lesley, but you are not that early, we leave here at 06.00 on Tuesday.....some of you may get postcards, but if you don't, then blame it on the snow LOL.

I am looking forward to the holiday, even though I will have to behave myself because DH will be there, but I do love to be in Scotland, I find the people very warm, and of course I love the rugged countryside, the trossochs and the highlands.

We will be staying in an hotel we have not stayed in before, so that should be fun too, this one is just up the hill from the town of Fort William, so I can always take a wander around the town, provided I can escape the beady eyes of DH

Like you NancyNC - my sewing machine is my enemy, and I am sure it feels the same way about me - I CAN sew, but I hate to sew, I learned at school of course, but I began to sew in earnest when I was a teenager and could buy a remnant of material, a couple of yards of stuff for next to nothing, and make a dress - I was a lot thinner in those days, and my dresses and skirts were shorter than my hair.  But I liked clothes, so had to make my own.

After all that blood sweat and tears, I went online not long ago, Ebay of course, LOL, and bid on, and won, a fur bag thing!!  This one is a cowprint, in black and white, and it has the zip and all of that...............these buggy snuggle things have been selling for ridiculous prices, anything from £25 upwards, plus postage, which varies from £4 to £7.50, but because the one tonight was ending at an odd time, late Sunday evening, I got it for a snip.......£2.99 postage and £8.51 for the buggy snuggle.

I have been transferring more pictures, and have now hit the last and final albums from my storage group, "the big one" - my sigs/tags, whatever they are called, - photobucket will not know what has hit it, I must have over a thousand all told.................and if you think that is bad, you should ask Zenith how many she has LOL.

Anyway, I will tackle that lot when I get back from Scotland...............and then I still have my family group to move!!

I had planned on giving my house a good clean through tomorrow, and then packing so that I was all ready to go..............but Barbara phoned, asked could I have Hayden "as usual".................LOL, seems the one-off Monday is now an "as usual" but I don't mind, I will just put the cleaning off until the afternoon. Barbara attends a group for new Mums on a Monday morning, it is all about post natal depression, and Jon normally looks after Hayden, but he wants to go to Norwich tomorrow, and besides, he cant really cope with Hayden when he gets tired.............

I think I will take Hayden for a walk in his pushchair and posh fur bag LOL, and go and pop some Christmas cards through letterboxes in the village, and when Barbara picks him up in the afternoon, I will then get on with cleaning and packing.

Merry Christmas to you too Tony, but I will be saying that again and again before the month is out, I am sure.

Lesley, as you can see, I have not been visiting the new place, at the moment my poor braincell is coping with the transferring of pictures, so it will not be able to fathom out how to play in the new place.............so by the time I am ready to play there, you will be an expert and can guide me LOL - see, there is method in my madness.

Winter draws on - I believe there will be snow in Scotland when we get there

Joy asked me to say goodbye to you all.  She didn't have time to get in here as she was busy looking after Hayden and also packing for her trip to Scotland............ so...............  Goodbye

By the way JB I didn't realize we had two Andys in the group I thought he was the same one LOL.

Never mind stupid me again.

It'll soon be  Friday.

Spent last week holed up in bed thanks to a flu virus so I have an awful lot of housework to catch up on, even the dustmites are complaining about overcrowding

Just before going to bed on the Monday night, before we travelled on the Tuesday to Scotland, I asked DH for the labels for our cases, so I could write them out and tie them on, that way, everything would be ready for when we left at 05.30am..........my brain is not too active at that time, nor am I.............well, depends, I can remember spending some really lovely 05.30am's being active, but that is a whole other story

Anyway, he handed them to me and I said................."No, these are not the ones, we are going to the Highland Hotel in Fort William aren't we?"

Turns out I packed for the wrong hotel!!  I had not seen the itinery but had been told by DH that we were going to the hotel in Fort William, however, what he neglected to tell me was that the Fort William holiday is in July next year!!

This one was at Loch Tummell - his favourite hotel - and it was called a "Mountains and Mistletoe" holiday..................(yes, there was mistletoe, and yes, I did use it, but don't tell DH , and no, it was not Gordon - hahahaha).  It meant dressing up in the evenings when it was to be "Christmas Eve", "Christmas Night" and "Hogmanay"........and I had not packed any pretty shoes, only long boots and snowboots for wearing with my jeans and trousers, and I had not packed any pretty skirts, tops or dresses!!!

So at 05.00 I was pulling stuff out of my wardrobe and stuffing it into my case!!
Took the wrong shoes - these ones cripple me, which is why I spent most of my time dancing barefooted, well, stocking footed I suppose.  I found my black velvet skirt  and a couple of dressy tops sufficed.

I will be sure to read the itinery for the next holiday!!

Good evening all.

I still have a sore throat and a barking cough, but the cough is getting a bit better.........and so it should be, I was up practicing it all night

Now to worry Zenith.................................or at least make her shake her head, but, I am taking two cough medicines because the cough starts off like a tickly dry cough, so I take the tickly dry cough medicine, but then it develops into a chesty cough, so I take the chesty cough medicine - makes perfect sense to me.

I am also rubbing Vic vapour rub into my throat and chest before I go to bed........that should keep DH away for a while hahahaha

Hayden has come down with the cough bless him, and when I rang Barbara today, she said he actually seems to be getting over it, but if he is no better tomorrow, then she will take him to the doctor, I told her that before I had children, my doctor actually said to me that she only ever saw me when I was pregnant, meaning I never went to the doctor unless it was vital, like being pregnant, or having a limb hanging off or something, but once my children were born, I was never away from the doctors surgery, at one point I thought about applying for a season ticket...............and Barbara will find that until Hayden gets a bit older, when it will more or less be accidents she takes him with, she will be seeing the doctor regularly.

By "accidents" I mean things like running into walls, lamposts, railings, falling off fences, walls, even the garage roof, nothing to worry about, I did it all the time as a child, fell off the outside loo roof, fell off the school railings, fell off drainpipes when climbing up the factory walls, and on rare occasions like when I went to the park, I fell out of trees..........and I am fine

Now...........you will tell me when you are all gone from here won't you?  You won't leave me alone talking to myself will you?   I thought not, but one of the voices in my head - Thelma - said you will........

Good Afternoon everyone.....yes, you are still getting the seasonal pictures from me LOL, until 12th Night at least, because that is when I put Christmas away for another 11 months or so.

My bronchitis now seems to be turning to a cold, the chest infection part seems to be almost gone, but now my head is no longer clear, it is "full" like when I have a cold, so, I am assuming that the whole thing is now working it's way out of my system.

I have some pictures of Hayden over the Christmas period, which I will post soon - it would have been nice if I could got the whole of his first year onto the boards for us all to watch a baby grow from birth to 12 months, but msn has decided otherwise......I suppose I could start off a thread in Aimoo and recap with a picture for each month so far?  Would that be ok?

Barbara, Jon, Hayden and Blue spent the day with us here yesterday, I insisted she brought Blue, my cats can go into hiding for the few hours he is here, not that he would hurt them, if they run, he chases, but apparently there is a kitten who lives next door to Barbara, and he has been in Barbara's back yard when Blue has been there, and this kitten is not afraid of Blue and approaches him, and Blue has no clue what to do, he just watches LOL.

It was a busy day with Hayden - we all ate our dinner, Hayden wore his LOL, luckily he still drinks milk because that filled him yesterday.  Before it was time to go home, Barbara and I bathed him, well, actually it was Barbara, Blue and I - Hayden loved to be sat in the big tub, normally he gets in with Jon at home, and does not have as much freedom to splash around as he did yesterday because he keeps trying to stand up in the bath with Jon so that he can tug on his beard.

Anyway, as cold as it was outside, we were all snug inside, and it was a happy day.

I feel a bit "groggy" with this cold, so I watched the new Jonathan Creek on BBC1 - wonderful, I love that series, I wish they would bring it back as a series actually, but anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and then I went to bed because with this cold, I feel tired.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good evening Joy, I thought you must have shot through again as I hadn't seen you in the new group lately.  Sorry it's such a pain for you and everyone to go there or should I say get there as some of you seem to have problems getting in.  This is the two answers I got from Aimoo about that.

Here are two answers I received from AIMOO about getting into our group......................

Why is she traveling to get to your forum? All she needs to do is use the url ... http://theoverfiftygroup.aimoo.com/

Just like MSN has the My Groups. Aimoo has something a little different. What I do to get to groups I am a member of is click on My Control Panel and you see the Forum List on the left. I hope that helps thats only way I know how as saving links to favs etc can become a pain in the butt.

Last night of decorations - they come down tomorrow.

Lesley - I can now get into Aimoo, although when I have tried that My Control Panel thing, it has never shown the other two groups I go to in Aimoo, so I have no idea what is going on.

At the moment I feel more comfortable here, but I do applaud you and JB for the effort put into Aimoo - you make it so that even I almost know what I am doing LOL, but as I don't have everything uploaded to photobucket at the moment, I come here to post pictures of Hayden, whilst I still can.

But I have been offline for a few days really - what with Christmas, New Year etc etc.................and not being too well.

As you know I brought a Scottish cough back with me, from.....Scotland LOL, and it turned into bronchitis.  I didn't seek medical help quickly enough, so the buggar really got a hold of me...............also, other things didn't help............like having to go out into the cold to Christmas food shop, and having Hayden to look after and taking him out for a walk, I think I went out too soon.

Also, the fact that my washing machine broke before Christmas so I was having to hand-wash every morning, (heavy things like jeans, trousers, bedding, towels, etc were put into the bath the night before to soak and then next day, the water let out and fresh hot water and soap added...........very heavy things like that I trampled). then hand wring as best I could, then take it all out to the line to dry in the wind...........didn't help for a speedy recovery.

New Years Day was busy, I was exhausted by midnight so went to bed.  Hardly slept because I had a heavy cold coming on, except, it turned into a mild dose of flu.  Slept in fits and starts, unable to breathe properly, got up Friday and was wheezing, coughing, sneezing, aching from head to foot and was stuffed up with a cold......felt generally listless, so I spent Friday and Saturday more or less in my jammies and napping on the sofa, or watching tv.

Yesterday I still felt pretty under the weather, but I did have a shower and wash my hair, and felt better for that.  Today I feel a lot better............think it is down to some medication DH got for me, strong stuff.............it looks and smells like Fairy washing up liquid (for pots), but with a slight minty aftertaste............and how do I know what Fairy washing up liquid tastes like?

Well, actually, about 5 years ago when my new kitchen was being fitted, I had to wash my pots in the bathroom for a couple of days whilst they installed the sink and did the plumbing, so I decanted washing up liquid into a small container........then one day whilst dashing to get ready to go to work, I picked up what I thought would be the mouthwash to swill around my mouth...................it was Fairy washing up liquid

The man came to repair the machine this afternoon, it was still under the extended warranty we took out, so cost us nothing.  Apparently something had worked loose when the machine was in spin mode, because the whole thing banged and vibrated so badly.....................the specialised adjustable feet were not installed.

They used to put a big block of concrete into machines to keep them stable when spinning, now they use adjustable feet - mine had not been set up.........they are now.

Well, it's a cold night here, so I am expecting that for most of us, it is cold, and I think I know why................not pointing any fingers, but have you noticed how hot it is where Lesley is?
