Hi you all,
I just got back from my Class Reunion this past weekend... Curiosity made me go... I kept looking for all my old friends... I even took my senior year Yearbook Annual so that I could remember what they looked like (as if I didn't already know)... But, Darn, I didn't see any of them... the only people there were old people, I assumed it was their parents as some did look familiar... Some of them came up to me and tried to guess who I was... Some knew and some didn't (You know how some parents are)... Well, I stuck around for awhile to not be rude...Well several of them were talking just like they had been in my class... My classmates must have told them everything that happened in school!!! I can't believe that some of my classmates would tell their parents all these things... I still didn't know what happened because it was supposed to be my CLASS REUNION... Why are they here??? What happened to my classmates??? Were the invitations sent to their parents home and not my classmate's??? I knew that they had to be somewhere close by and they probably just brought their parents so that they could have a good time also... I don't know why as I did not read in the invitation to bring my parents...They must have sent another letter advising all of us to bring our parents and I just did not get the letter in time... Now that I have finally figured this out, I guess I need to find my classmate's as they must be in another room... What a minute... this is a masquerade party as well (such clever organizers for our reunion to have this on Halloween weekend)... Now I know what happened, but where did they get a costume company to to make all those masks that looked like their parents??? Why did nobody tell me where I could get one??? Well I thought I'd just talk to one of these people just to find out where they got their mask...So smiling real big I walked up to one that I was sure that I would know and that surely they would  remember me... Starting to laugh I said "You look just like your dad." He smiled back and said "Thankyou, Dad was a good person and it is good of you to remember." Wow... I've got this figured out... So to a woman I did the same "You look just like your Mother you've got her smile" and to others  "You've got your Mom's (or Dad's) eyes" This was going great... People seemed happy to see me and nobody said anything to me about not dressing up in a masquerade costume. Now, not everyone dressed as their parents, some dressed as pirates, Fred Flintstone, some as Kings, Queens and Princesses. There were some a Draculas and other scary creatures. One girl even wore her old cheerleader outfit just to show off to everybody that she could still wear it (I think it made alot of the women jealous)... Now the time had come for everybody to reveal themselves... They started with those that wore regular costumes, you know pirates, etc... Well boy am I surprised... They had a mask under the mask that they were wearing... It was a mask of their parents also... I immediately I got mad because nobody had told me about how to get one of these "Special Parent Look" costumes... It was strange because they took off the first mask, but not the second mask... And those that only wore the "Special Parent Masks" did not take theirs off at all... this was not fair as I thought everbody was supposed to take off their mask (of course you know I just went to the class reunion/party in blue jeans and shirt, I wanted to just be casual)... I guess they were so proud of them that they just wanted to keep them on... I went back to my Mother's house a little sad because nobody wanted to take off their "Special Parent Look" mask....And I really did want to see my old friends again.... Oh well, at least I did get several pictures of them wearing those masks of theirs... Sure wish I knew where they got them???

I don't go to class reunions as I was not in my class, I was torured by a private teacher, (although I did has a class at the high school, I never went). I had been invited to a lot of events and always asked to bring my guitar, I never refused but I did tell them to make the arrangementss through my booking agent.

My High School uniform was maroon and yellow, or if one wants to be posh - claret and gold  We all had to wear a gymslip for our first year there, those were the rules - the boys looked stupid LOL - seriously, they wore grey trousers.  We girls had to wear a beret, maroon of course, and the school badge had to be sewn on the front.

I used to pull my beret into a sort of mans driving flat-cap shape, I believe Madonna finally caught up with my fashion statement, a year or so back   However, after a few months, I was told by the Deputy Head that I was not allowed to wear my beret in that fashion as the school badge could not be displayed.

So I started to wear it pulled right down over my head, like a skull cap 20 sizes too large.  It looked stupid, but I didnt care, it also got a few laughs, and a few people copied.............then I was told by a teacher that wearing my hat like that was not really acceptible, so I said "but it shows the school badge and that is all that is required"....................guess I was bloody cocky in those days too

Mums always bought our uniform clothes too big, (because they were so expensive, they had to last), we were told..."you will grow into it"  I am thinking that if I went along to the next reunion, my uniform may fit me now

It was a funny story Jecakias, thanks for sharing it with us

We didn't have cheer leaders or things like that, but I was on my school sports teams - netball and rounders - and my uniform for that was a pale green t-shirt and dark cherry red shorts, white socks and white tennis shoes.

They did introduce hockey into the sports activities for a year, but then disbanded it..................not sure why..............
