Does he still want to jump over fences, Jen? And, are you going to get to keep him? |

not sure if he would try; im still keeping him tied. he was neutered on wednesday and seems a bit calmer already, so im hoping he wont ever try again. and no, unfortunately we cant keep him, but i wish we could. hes an awesome little dog. the lady from breed rescue is coming over this afternoon to take him; shes adopting out another pup today, so will have room for him now (she can only foster 2 at a time). he will stay with her until he finds a home, which she thinks wont take too long. im really going to miss him, i know my mom and brother will too. my dad knows hes here and doesnt approve, never "met" him and doesnt really care, i guess. hes not a dog person. btw, still checking ads and no one ever missed him. ill never understand that one, he had some training and is good inside, and hes very sweet, why they wouldnt want him back is beyond me. their loss. |

she came and picked him up not long ago, he left with toys, and food, lol. i miss him a lot already, but i know he will be ok. she got a call earlier from a retired couple who have an american eskimo and a chow, and lost the chow last month from old age. i guess their other little dog is really missing his pal, so they asked her if she had anyone available. she told him "well, i have Mikey". 6 foot fenced yard, another buddy to play with, they take their dogs everywhere and are home most of the time, so keep your fingers crossed/pray/think good thoughts that it works out. she was going to take him by since its really close to here. she wont place him anywhere till hes healed from surgery, so he goes home with her tonight regardless, but shes going to call me tonight and let me know either way. oh, and going to the little store today to pick up snack foods, they have the perfect tug toy i was looking for him for only a buck |

this was the email sent to me a half hour or so ago updating me on Mikey (she mispelled his name though!): Subject: Re: Mikey Pics! Date: 6/27/2004 5:12:06 PM Mountain Standard Time From: ***************** Reply To: To: JennifBo3 Hi Jennifer, The couple that I went to meet adopted Mickey. I had a great feeling about them right off the bat! Their eskie is in impecable condition, her coat is kept perfect! They brush her coat and teeth every day and take her on walks daily. They lost their chow about a month ago and Breezy went into a major depression, not eating, laying around, and she would go out and sit where Bear used to like to sit. She was constantly looking for Bear. They decided to get an eskie because they are crazy about the breed after getting Breezy. When I brought Mickey over she perked up, following him around, wagging her tail, smiling, showing off. He is very good with her, giving her space and submitting to her dominance. Female eskie's tend to rule the roost. When ever I have a female to foster she'll put my boys in their place! They said Breezy didn't get much sleep last night because she kept checking on him last night to make sure he was okay and that he was still there. It sounds like she's afraid he's going to leave just like Bear. They look like an eskie boyfriend and girlfriend! They're the same size, although Breezy weighs a few more pounds. They make a cute pair. They took him on a walk yesterday and he walked right with them. They think he's been leash trained...he was afraid to jump on their bed (which is where Breezy sleeps) so they think he was punished in the past for jumping on the bed. He is afraid to give kisses and has slowly started after watching Breezy show affection to Nancy and James. He's really bonded to James and when James walked out to my car to see my eskies, Mickey was crying at the door wondering where James went without him. I went to visit him today and his stiches are healing nicely. She put shea butter on his stiches and tummy, I think that helped with the itching that they feel when their wounds are healing. She put a small t-shirt on him last night because he was trying to lick them yesterday and she didn't want to leave the collar on him during the day. They live in a trailer home and have a 7ft x 25ft outdoor space for the dogs. I was concerned about the entry fence which is 4 ft tall but they don't let their dogs stay out in the courtyard unattended. They are always out there with them because they're overprotective of the dogs. They take them on 2 walks a day and take the dogs everywhere with them. They are going to take Mickey on a short drive daily to get him used to the car to help him get over his car sickness. Their kids are full grown so the dogs are their babies...and they really spoil them. They are retired, so they get social security and pension. Money isn't abundant but the love sure is! Breezy is one of the happiest eskie's I've ever seen so I know Mickey is in good hands! They have really been letting him get comfortable and trust them at his own pace. She brushed him out and his coat looks really nice when he's brushed. He'll clean up well when they are finally able to bathe him. I think they are going to change his name to Bandit...which he is a little heart bandit. I'll stop by again this next week or the week after and see how he's doing. If you are going to be at home I can pick you up so you could visit him. Cheryl
