and have you cried much
each time you pronounced my name ?

Did the silence
sadden you?

There was no silence
in that slow pulse of years.
You heard perhaps some harps and clarinets,
of strings and wood
You cloaked yourself like the bat,
like the tapestry that covers his cave while he sleeps

A perfumed whine.
You heard the chopped sound of children laughing
and that breeze that slashed the needles off the pines

What did they say, what did they announce?

Nothing was said and everything was understood.
The rain was relentless and the words were nothing more than than the wetness from the ink,
used to write dead letters on now smudged paper.

And Almira asks, speak to us of bat cloaks and whining perfume....  And yes, Susan, you are right--smudge is a gypsy word!  I love the way you chase words like a detective!  I love it when you do that!  *smile*

I looked up non sequitur on urban dictionary and the example given of the usage was:

"Theo lives in a small apartment. Therefore he must have a small penis."

What has Ink Blots got to do with a small penis?

Its amazing what you can see in the ink blots

Maybe it is because I am so intelligent that I am probably going to be in NYC real soon now. I leave for the peoples republic of america, now that the banks are nationalised, on Monday - just hope the planes are still flying to the north east.

not having looked anything up i will simply pass my judgement unchecked.
this was good. even with questions it was good.
maybe im in prosaic mood. i didnt get the nightmare poem much though it was pretty like a pollock painting and maybe i had a headache.

maybe because i heard organ music, i can relate to harps and clarinets.

its playful that might be it. perfumed whines. cloaked bats. names pronounced.

i used exorcism recently and ill use it again.
power of ... compels you.

its raining

ws,
you were uncertain which direction to take here.  this ink blot, that ink blot.
so on, so forth.
my suggestion: i think your forte may be in criticism for poems that suck.
stick with that, and you'll go far young man!

Thanks Soooooooooze - our itinerary - other than a couple of days in Honolulu each way - is a bit up in the air. SWMBO can't wait to get her hands on the newish grandson in Texas but I am anxious to also visit a few places - NY is top of the list - but ultimately it is up to SWMBO. Just have to wait and see.

Will send a message when I am told what is happening.
