Sometimes I can pretend
That there are a few beads of water
   strung round my neck.
That the beads are strung together with butterflies.
That the clasp is a vermilion ladybug.

The water is morning dew.
The drops are silver stars.
The stars look over coral reefs.

Below, fresh water fish and clear blue.
Below, life's patterns in abstract thought.
Below, a basin of the womb;
and how can it not all attach?

Shine on Silver Balls
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o

Reflectively planetary
replete in conjunctivity
as shapes plainly ordinary
as multitudes of relativity
like a genome
another frigging genome.

Seeing reflections in
our twisted normalities
the doppleganger kin
of reconstituted banalities
seemingly all alike
boringly all alike.

Delving deeper into
such apparent similarities
abberations appearing through
by subtly shown vagaries
we're all different
vive la difference.

silver globes entwine around the bare branches of a dark tree
silver moon reflects from each unto shadowy snowy ground

a wish on each by children becomes a promise of the spring

"Here's Looking at You" (c) Meanders 12/22/2003

Sharp metals crush
velvet carpet,
purple reds part
woven knots and pushed-up tufts
driven clean, smash
the daylight gleam
now crusted iron ore
witness ex-temporare

Yesterday
charmed silver
linked the silvery metal balls
shone in glory, the sun could feel the metal sound
resound genetic tones new to DNA
linking new born genes
to grand-fathered photographs
hanging o'er the mantelpiece
genes chain-linked
strung forever
unending warps in time
produce soft smooth rhythms
secrets of the plush velvet floor
