Announcement from MSN:

Groups

Your satisfaction is the key to our success! At MSN, we are constantly working to make MSN Groups more helpful, more fun, and easier to use. Here’s what we have planned for our summer 2003 release.

Reserve your MSN Nickname!
If you don’t already have an MSN Nickname, you’ll soon be able to select one and use it in MSN Groups. Your MSN Nickname identifies you across all MSN services and makes it easy for your friends to find you no matter where you are in MSN. When you use your MSN Nickname in Groups, you can take advantage of an upgraded Groups member profile page with a picture and a link to your MSN public profile.

Want to beat the rush?
Reserve an MSN Nickname in the MSN Member Directory today!

More member management options!
Group creators and managers are what give MSN Groups its character and personality. To help you make the most of the groups you manage and ensure that your group runs smoothly, we’ve given group managers more control over membership:

  • Members can now search the Group’s member list by nickname.
  • In Group’s Chat, managers are given the status of chat room owners, while assistant managers act as chat room hosts.
  • Managers can remove members from their group without banning them.
  • Managers can automatically delete files, photos, and messages from members who have either been banned, had their membership cancelled, or left the group voluntarily.

We are sure you’ll enjoy these new MSN Groups features and we’re looking forward to even more upgrades and updates in the future.

Service Update
With this new upgrade, you will find that some of the ads on MSN Groups have taken on a new look as well. Advertising is a necessary part of this otherwise free service and MSN Groups tries to preserve the look and character of your group while providing your members with links to the kinds of news, services, and products they want.

Thank you for using MSN Groups!
