I am not a poet by any means. I wrote this for my gf and will include it as a message in a bottle. English is not my first language and, even though some of the words and thoughts are personal to her and I, I would appreciate your criticism as I am not sure it all makes sense. After all, this will be something she will keep forever. Thank you.

<o:p> </o:p>

This island of loneliness my soul travels daily<o:p></o:p>

Bears my heart with deep chagrin and sighs<o:p></o:p>

Knowing over this ocean my true love lies<o:p></o:p>

In the form of an angelic Caledonian beauty.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Thoughts of your heartfelt smile and embrace<o:p></o:p>

Nourish a mind of turbid and somber nights<o:p></o:p>

When hunger for an abundance of lights<o:p></o:p>

Will not suffice the affliction to erase.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

The reminds of your laughter birds sing and cry<o:p></o:p>

Your aroma winds carry across the land<o:p></o:p>

As the waves crash heavily upon the sand<o:p></o:p>

Fills me heart with gladness and wipe my eyes dry.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

As long as through my veins blood is running<o:p></o:p>

My petrified arms will not cease to strive<o:p></o:p>

Your hope and love will keep my force alive<o:p></o:p>

Until our dreamt cabin is built and being.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

I long for the days of conquering my queen<o:p></o:p>

When our bodies reconcile and come together<o:p></o:p>

As love and emotion grow stronger and deeper<o:p></o:p>

With eyes that sparkle my sweet and loving Kathleen.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

a ballad, max?  very nice.

i suggest you use Notepad instead of MS Word.
this way you won't get all that extraneous HTML stuff when you paste.
the only thing you'll possibly have to do is respace.
or type directly into the message form.

Caledonian

my only negative.  sounds like a boar hunt to me. ;-)

welcome to The Poets' Place.

Hello Susan :)

Thank you for the welcome and your reply.

Yes, I noticed I ended up with HTML coding after I sent it. Just wanted to c&p instead of typing it all over again.

My girl is scottish. So I used Caledonian. Not good?

Thanks for your help.

i'm thinking in metaphorical, metamorphoses, transformation, mythical, ovidian terms.

now that you explain, it's a moot point.
