i.
I am flying my own fighter plane
and have just finished bombing
all the mud huts in my village.
Repeatedly
I have dived low,
while holding my breath in my lungs.
I have destroyed all life, including marine.
I strafe the beach, continuously looking
for any hidden illusions there.
ii.
I am walking in the deepest part of the desert.
I am crying,
my very last tears.
Saluting,
each drop that falls on my book of poems.
Which is now burned and charred.
iii..
Now, in this new free world
the only thing I have left to comfort me and to validate me
is my new position as chief impostor.
