All-Purpose Face and Body Splash - Formula
Adapted from Natural Beauty Basics, by Dorie Byers (Vital Health Publishing, 2005).

Here is one skin treat you’ll want to share with friends: you can use it as a toner, a cleanser, an aftershave, or a pick-me-up. It is useful for any skin type, and has nourishing, relaxing, and anti-bacterial properties. It takes only minutes to make and it smells lovely.

This great formula sounds too good to keep to yourself: small bottles of it, tied with ribbon, might make great stocking stuffers. Here is the simple formula:

INGREDIENTS

1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup dried lavender blossoms
1/4 cup dried thyme
1/2 cup distilled water

1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and heat over low heat, simmering, covered, for 30 minutes.

2. Strain and discard the herbs. Allow vinegar to cool to room temperature, then add distilled water. Store in a dark bottle away from direct heat and light.

To use, pat or splash this mixture onto your skin and allow to air dry.
