TO MAKE: Cut two 8 inch (20cm) squares of prequilted fabric, place them with right sides together, then stitch them togther on three sides. Turn inside out, them hem the open side. If you like, add press studs or buttons to fasten the open side. Make a second pillow of muslin, stuffing it loosely with potpourri before sealing. Slip the herbal pillow inside the open edge of the hotpad. You can refresh the herb scent with a few drops of essential oils.
Some herbs to try: Lavendar, basil, thyme, mint, ground cedarwood, scented geranium leaves, rose petals, pine, lemon balm. use the ones you know or create and experiment with the new ones.
