The Journal
I have heard a Journal described many different ways. A book of innermost thoughts and feelings. A daily log of the experiences and important events in your life. To me a Journal is an unconditional friend, someone you can talk to for hours about the things important to you. Someone you can be more open with then even your closest friend. A place to think and sort out your fears, dreams and desires. There are no external influences, no one to impress, judge or tell you what they think is best for you or what you should do.
Use your Journal to express your true self, to record special events, people that you meet, experiences you have, thoughts, ideas, things that make you smile, laugh and cry. A journal can be a powerful tool in self discovery and personal growth. A Journal can bring you more in touch with your true self, what makes you happy and what you want from your life. This insight can help you to make better decisions towards the path you have chosen and builds a strong self reliance and intuition within yourself.
The Journal is yours and yours alone. Write in your Journal as often or as little as you like. Keep in mind that the more you share with your Journal the more you will discover about yourself, the direction of your current path and whether this path is truly the one for you.
Review your Journal on a monthly basis and write a summary of that month. Use the summary to determine if the direction you have been taking makes you truly happy. If not, what can you do to change your current direction in life to make you more fulfilled and content. Look at the direction you have chosen, changes you have made and patterns that maybe forming. Determine if this behavior is enhancing or holding you back from the true direction you want your life to take.
Over time you can look back into your journal and see first hand how much you have changed and how you've improved the way you think and feel about all aspect of your life. It can be a tool to help deal with your problems and how to get past the stumbling blocks that can inhibit personal growth.
